Liang Xiulin sniggered and laughed coldly in her heart. She lowered her head and stuffed the money to Mo Jinxi, saying, “Jinxi, take this pocket money from Grandmother and buy whatever you’ve seen previously and would like to have.”

Mo Jinxi’s wrist was held by Liang Xiulin. He clenched his fist and tried hard to pull back while shaking his head vigorously and declined, “I don’t want.”

“What’s the matter?” Liang Xiulin thought that Mo Jinxi was being shy. Coupled with the rejection from the old Principal, he was embarrassed to accept it. She continued, “Don’t worry. When you are back with us, Grandmother will give you more pocket money. You are the Mo Family’s grandchild; you would need to get used to such things. Anyway, we can afford it, so why would you want to treat yourself shabbily?”

Liang Xiulin did not look at the old Principal when she spoke, but it was obvious that her words were directed at the old Principal.

The old Principal’s expression remained stoic and did not respond. In her heart, she was thinking that this Madam Mo was far compared to the members of the Yan Family.

There was no need to compare Lin Chu; from Old Lady Yan to Yu Zi, all of them were pleasant to get along with, none of them were as narrow-minded as Liang Xiulin.

Mo Jinxi shook his head again and said, “I still cannot accept it.”

“Why?” Liang Xiulin’s eyes widened. She felt that Mo Jinxi had been influenced by the old Principal.

Mo Jinxi wriggled his wrist and asked, “Grandmother, can you let go of me first?”

Liang Xiulin blew out a long breath through her nose and released her grip on him.

Mo Jinxi quickly clasped his hands behind his back as if he was scared that Liang Xiulin would come and catch him again.

Liang Xiulin looked at how Mo Jinxi acted and thought that the child had stayed in the orphanage for too long and became petty.

It was only two thousand Yuan and he dared not want it.

Mo Jinxi continued to clasp his hands behind his back and explained, “The amount of money is too much to be considered pocket money. I cannot accept it. If I accepted it, I will use it to buy something to share with all the brothers and sisters. But I will not be setting a good example to them, they will feel that I am different, and…and…”

Mo Jinxi could not describe it, though in his heart he knew that this would not be good, and he felt uncomfortable.

It would be the same if a child in the orphanage suddenly had a lot of money to buy things for all of them. He would also feel uncomfortable.

“But you are different…” Liang Xiulin said. How could the Mo Family’s grandchild be comparable with the orphanage children?

However, before she could not finish her sentence, Police Chief Mo interrupted, “That’s enough!”

Liang Xiulin paused and raised her head to look at Police Chief Mo. He spoke with a serious expression, “Jinxi is right to not accept it. I have all the while educated the children, that even if the family is rich it is also because they had worked very hard to achieve it. Regardless of how much they earned, it was done with their blood, sweat, and tears and it would not be nice to let young children simply spend money. Jinxi was also right that he is no different from the other children. It should not be because he is from the Mo Family that he should look down at others. If he were to buy something freely and simply give it to others and feel great and smug about it, how different would he be with a good-for-nothing fop?”

Mo Jinxi nodded. He knew that it was not right, but he did not know how to express it.

He said, “I really don’t lack anything here. Chu Chu and the uncle and aunty from the Yan Family, and Grandmother Yan will send lots of toys and books here. Whatever we need in school, we have the same as the other children do. If we need to spend money to attend extracurricular activities, the old Principal would let us participate in it too just as the other children would. Grandmother, the old Principal, and the teachers, and Chu Chu, really treat me well.”

He seemed to be afraid that Liang Xiulin would not believe him and emphasized it hurriedly.

Even though he was at a young age, Mo Jinxi could also see that Liang Xiulin’s attitude did not seem appropriate.

Liang Xiulin twitched her lips and said, “Alright.”

She kept the money, feeling slightly awkward.
