The President is Being Shameless Again

“Yang Zhiyuan, President Yang, is the president of Cheng Yuan. I’ve always felt sorry for you about what happened between me and Ziming. My mom feels the same way, so she’s been looking for the right man for you. We also want you to be happy and not dwell on the past, so I’d like to introduce you to him. President Yang is outstanding, he manages a company on his own. Although the business scale of Cheng Yuan is not as huge as Lin Mao, it’s not a small company. You don’t have to compete for a small position with other people if you just get married to him. You’ll be the president’s wife,” Lin Yuwen said.

Lin Chu had never heard of Cheng Yuan, but she also knew that the people that Su Changxin introduced would not be as great as she made it out to be.

Even if he was great, there must be some aspects that would not suit her.

“I’m grateful for Aunt Su’s kindness and consideration,” Lin Chu said as she casually tucked her hair behind her ears. “You can just tell me the truth. Since he’s friends with Uncle Lin, I’m sure he’s of a certain age. Is he divorced or widowed?”

The facial expression of Lin Yuwen went stiff. Lin Chu’s heart sank. She knew she was right.

Old Lady Lin grabbed Lin Chu’s hand anxiously. “Lin Chu, your Aunt Su is doing this for your good. I only agreed because she has a point. If it’s not beneficial to you, I wouldn’t have agreed. I’ve seen pictures of President Yang. Although he’s already 45 years old, and he’s much older than you in age, he still looked young and dashing in photos. He has his own business and is sure to take good care of you.”

Lin Chu removed her hands from Old Lady Lin’s palm coldly. “Grandma, you think that this is for my own good, or you think that If I find someone else I would stop thinking about Chen Ziming?”

“Lin Chu, you finally admitted that you still have feelings for Chen Ziming. You’re still hoping to reconcile with him,” Lin Yuwen was yelling like a crazy woman.

Lin Chu could not help but rolled her eyes. “Only you would regard him as treasure. Can you stop twisting my words? I’ve said it many times, I’ve not cared about him ever since we broke up. It’s up to you guys to do whatever you want. Stop dragging me into this, and you don’t need to find a man for me. I couldn’t care less about Chen Ziming, so can you stop pestering me with this matter?”

“Lin Chu, don’t be ungrateful,” Lin Yuwen said furiously. “My mum has been going around and helping you to find someone suitable to take care of you. You didn’t even say thank you, and you’re acting like we’re doing more harm than good. Your conscience has been eaten by a dog! What kind of man do you think you can find as a foster child and an orphan. Even if we introduce the sons of the prominent families to you, they wouldn’t even give you a thought. You can keep your pride and arrogance aside!”

“You don’t need to feel wronged. You’re out of President Yang’s league. He’s older than you, but not much older, there are lots of younger and prettier girls out there who want to be with him. If it wasn’t because of the Lin family, President Yang wouldn’t even consider you. You’ve got no parents, no status, now you don’t even have a job. What rights do you have to be unhappy about President Yang?” Lin Chu sneered and curled her lips, “When my mum’s introducing you to President Yang, she already cast her dignity aside.”

Lin Chu stood up with a cold face. “Thanks to Uncle Lin and Aunt Su for the love and care. I’m sorry I don’t agree with you on this matter, it doesn’t matter even if you said that I don’t have a conscience. I’ve never thought of getting married just for the money and disregarding the person’s character because of his wealth. You said there are many younger and more beautiful girls out there who are willing to be with President Yang, so just let them be. I’ve also never thought of looking for someone from a rich family. If I just want to live a simple life with someone ordinary, it wouldn’t even affect you. It’s not your business even if I suffer from poverty. You don’t have to ‘worry’ about me over this matter. I’m in charge of my own love life, there’s no need to bother Uncle Lin and Aunt Su.”

“Lin Chu, don’t say that,” Old Lady Lin said and grasped Lin Chu. “President Yang’s not bad. You’ve got to believe grandma, I’m a good judge of character after living for so many years. You won’t lose anything if you get together with President Yang. We just want you to live a good life and move on from the pain as soon as possible.”
