She took no more than two steps when her arm was caught again.

Lin Chu looked up and glared at him. She had thought that he was a decent person after spending some time with him. The situation in the male restroom might have been a misunderstanding but now, she did not think so anymore.

Yan Beicheng raised his eyebrows and gave a light laugh, “You’ve overshot, the car is behind.”

As her gaze followed his perfectly structured long fingers, she saw his black Grand Cherokee right in front of her, which she had missed by two steps when she lowered her head while walking.

Lin Chu was so embarrassed that her expression tightened. She walked past him to go back.

Yan Beicheng could not help but smirk as he got into his car.

There was silence in the car until they drove out of the hospital gates. Yan Beicheng’s rich, serious voice was heard, “Actually, even if they were aware that we know each other well, it will still not be easy for the Lin family to meet me.”

Lin Chu’s immediate reaction was, who would want to know you well?

Before she could say anything, Yan Beicheng continued, “Although I rather they do not disturb you.”

Lin Chu had a sudden impulse to ask him why he was being so nice to her.

She was about to ask the question when her phone rang.

“Auntie,” Lin Chu called out in an estranged voice.

Wang Jinglin said in a low voice, “Lin Chu, I’m so sorry about just now. Yuwen is currently going through the check-up. I’m sitting outside the clinic and secretly giving you a call. Regarding the clash between the both of you, well, Yuwen is my future daughter-in-law, it won’t be nice of me if I don’t support her, I…”

Lin Chu gently but firmly interrupted her, “Auntie, you don’t really need to call me to explain yourself every time Lin Yuwen and I meet.”

“Lin Chu, are you mad?” Wang Jinglin asked in difficulty.

“No. I just feel that you don’t need to mind about this too much. You are free to form your opinions and judge me. In fact, you and Lin Yuwen will be a family in the future, it’s only natural that you would not want to jeopardize any harmony between you because of an outsider. This is why it isn’t really necessary for you to explain yourself every time this happens,” Lin Chu tried to be patient.

She has already chosen her side and acted on it. What was the point of calling her to explain her difficulties every time she did this?

Hoping that Lin Chu would understand?

It did not matter if she had understood or not. After breaking up with Cheng Ziming, she no longer had anything to do with his parents. She did not care what Wang Jinglin thought of her. It was not necessary for Wang Jinglin to ask for her forgiveness every time she hurt her. Lin Chu could tolerate it once or twice but to go through it every single time was unreasonable.

“I… I just think that it was such a waste between you and Ziming. I don’t want to be estranged from you because of the situation with Ziming and Yuwen. I…” Wang Jinglin went on endlessly.

Lin Chu took a deep breath, “Auntie, actually what happened between me and Ziming is already in the past, it really is not necessary for you to bring it up again. Besides, I think Lin Yuwen takes it to heart when both me and Ziming are mentioned together. Please don’t let her misunderstand or everyone would end up being unhappy. It would be okay for me but you and Ziming are the people who will be living together with her. For your sake and Ziming’s, for the sake of your family’s harmony, I think it’s best you don’t call me again. If Lin Yuwen finds out, she will misunderstand.”
