“I’m waiting for somebody,” Lin Chu returned her gaze towards Lin Yuwen.

Her cold attitude did not make Lin Yuwen leave. She laughed proudly as her hands caressed her stomach, “I’m here for a check-up. I took a pregnancy test at home last night and it was positive. I’m here today to get a thorough check-up. Ziming is working and auntie was worried something would happen to me, so she is especially accompanying me here.”

Wang Jinglin smiled uncomfortably and said to Lin Chu guiltily, “When we met at the hotel last night, we didn’t know yet. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have allowed her to eat spicy food.”

All Lin Chu did was give a smile. She saw Yan Beicheng took the prescription and was walking over with the plastic bag in his hand, so she immediately said, “If that’s the case, you better hurry up for your check-up.”

Lin Yuwen did not look like she was about to leave, and Yan Beicheng was about to walk over. She immediately signaled Yan Beicheng with her eyes to not come over. She did not know if he would understand her.

She was relieved when Yan Beicheng actually stopped walking and did not come over. However, as he stood tall and dashing, there was an unhappy expression on his face.

His eyebrows lifted at her and it looked like his mouth was curved in a sarcastic smile. It made Lin Chu feel guilty.

“Lin Chu, no matter what, you are still my younger sister in name. Do you need to make things so awkward between the both of us? If it wasn’t for our family, who knows who long you would be stuck in the orphanage or what you would be doing now. You wouldn’t have been able to go to university or find a good job. Why are you being so ungrateful as to treat me with such a cold attitude? Did our family bring up an ungrateful person all these years?” Lin Yuwen sighed and shook her head.

It was unclear if she had done it on purpose but Lin Yuwen’s voice did seem a little louder than usual. Even though there were not many people around, those who were there looked over. They looked at Lin Chu with disdain.

Wang Jinglin gave Lin Chu an apologetic look and said to Lin Yuwen, “Yuwen, now that you’re pregnant, try not to get angry. It won’t be good for the baby.”

Lin Chu took a deep breath. She did not like the sound of Wang Jinglin’s words. While Wang Jinglin did not accuse her directly of anything, but her consoling words to Lin Yuwen indicated that she was the one that was angering Lin Yuwen.

Lin Chu felt like this was all a joke. She had never done anything to offend Lin Yuwen. Lin Yuwen was the one who knew best what her life was like in the Lin Family all these years. She just had to distort the truth by suddenly announcing it loudly. What was she trying to achieve?

She did not give any trouble nor offend, yet Lin Yuwen came up to her and got angry on her own. Lin Chu had said nothing from the start and Wang Jinglin was blaming her?

“I treat you as a sister and really hope that you would give your blessings to me and Ziming, as well as to the baby in my stomach. Please don’t hate us, if you have time, go home to visit mum and dad. No matter what, your current surname is still Lin,” Lin Yuwen sounded like she was trying her best to convince her.

Lin Chu could only give a stiff smile and gave an answer that went against her will, “Yes, I will.”

“Lin Chu, don’t blame Yuwen for being so direct. This is because she treats you like family and hopes that everyone is well. What’s past is past, we should… look forward, okay?” Wang Jinglin said gently and tried to smile.
