Beast Taming Patrol

After the opening ceremony is completed, Researcher Shi Yuhua will be the first to represent Mountain City University to showcase their research results.

Thinking of this, Zhang Xuyang couldnʼt help but clench his fists tightly.

This research result could be said to be era-defining.

Its importance was beyond doubt, and the reaction it would provoke was guaranteed to be massive.

He could hardly wait to see the shocked expressions on everyoneʼs faces.

Soon, the breeding competition began.

After the host finished introducing the sponsors and judges, Shi Yuhua stepped onto the podium on behalf of the team from Capital University.

”A beastʼs evolutionary type, in theory, can ascend three minor ranks,” Shi Yuhua began with a calm tone. ”For instance, a high-rank elite class beast, in theory, could evolve to a high-rank leader class beast at its peak.”

Just a sentence in, Lin Su below couldnʼt help but frown slightly.

It was common knowledge on the planet of Blue Star that a beastʼs evolutionary type could only improve by three minor ranks at most.

But this theory was incorrect.

Just Xue Henqingʼs evolutionary type alone could prove this point, not to mention that there were more examples similar to Xue Henqingʼs in the world of Divine Martial Stars.

However, Lin Su did not refute the other party with examples, nor was he willing to stick his neck out, so he chose to stay silent and quietly listen to what Shi Yuhua had to say next.

”By the same token, a low-rank leader class beast, in theory, could evolve to a low-rank monarch class beast in one evolution.”

Shi Yuhuaʼs voice rose slightly. ”But in fact, no one has ever discovered an evolutionary path that directly leads a low-rank leader class beast to a low-rank monarch class beast – until now! Therefore, what I am about to present today from Capital Universityʼs latest breeding achievement is era-defining!”

”No wonder sheʼs being so arrogant this time,” Qin Nan frowned as she watched Shi Yuhua waving her arms on stage. ”She must have found the direct evolutionary path from a low-rank leader class to a low-rank monarch class beast.”

”Nan, is this research finding that impressive?” Lin Su asked, somewhat puzzled. ”Although there isnʼt a single-step evolution into the monarch class, there are many two-step routes, right?”

”Itʼs not that simple,” Qin Nan shook her head. ”Though beasts have unlimited potential for evolution, there is such a thing as evolutionary potential. The more times they evolve, the higher the probability of evolutionary failure. Therefore, being able to evolve a more powerful beast with fewer evolutionary steps naturally carries a significant advantage.”

”Heh!” snorted Qin Nan. ”Itʼs a good thing youʼre here; otherwise, that woman would have had us all fooled! The more arrogant she is now, the harder sheʼll be slapped in the face later.”

On the stage, as Shi Yuhua spoke, a line of text appeared within the holographic projection.

”The monarch class evolutionary type of the low-rank leader class Mushroom Baby.”

Most of the audience was taken aback at that moment, quickly followed by expressions of astonishment.

Although they had guessed as much from Shi Yuhuaʼs words earlier, the confirmation still inevitably shocked them.

An evolutionary path directly to the monarch class had actually been discovered!

”Oh?” Qin Nan leaned back slightly. ”Not bad at all. To think that that womanʼs research could actually turn out to be unexpectedly beneficial to me.”

Her third beast was precisely a Mushroom Baby, which had not yet evolved, and the evolutionary path Shi Yuhua proposed was precisely what her Mushroom Baby could use.

In an instant, Qin Nan found Shi Yuhuaʼs presence somewhat more tolerable.

Mmm, she decided, perhaps sheʼd take fewer embarrassing photos of her later.

Just fifty should do.

Meanwhile, Lin Su was thinking about something else.

Mushroom Baby... No wonder Zhang Xuyang, the bright student from Capital University, had contracted with a healing class beast to participate in the research. As a student involved in the project, he must have been aware of its details. Probably, he had contracted the Mushroom Baby in anticipation of this moment, right?

”I believe many are familiar with Mushroom Baby, a leader class healing-type beast,” Shi Yuhua spoke up with a clear voice. ”But as a low-rank leader class beast, not many have committed to its contract.”
