Hidden Marriage 99 Days: Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 996: Extra Chapter 2: Alzheimer’s

From the start to the end, Bo Chengcheng had never mentioned Jiang Yeqing’s affair.

Bo Chengcheng knew that in the old lady’s mind, a matter like this amounted to nothing.

Besides, she did not want Grandma to be disappointed in Jiang Yeqing.

Since they had parted ways, so be it. The parting should be kept amicable.

Unexpectedly, the old lady was so angry that she reached out to hit her after hearing her comments about them not being able to get along and having a busy job!

Ever since she was a child, Bo Chengcheng had never been hit.

The most recent time in her memory was when she was taken to the stream for a swim and almost lost her life. At the time, Grandma had beaten her up while crying from the fright.

Since then, Bo Chengcheng had been very obedient.

And now, Grandma actually hit her because of Jiang Yeqing?

Bo Chengcheng was indignant and at the same time, felt so aggrieved that she was compelled to argue her case. Unexpectedly, it angered the old lady so much her blood pressure rose again.

When the doctor rushed over, he berated her unhappily, “The old lady is not in good health to begin with. How could you as a grandchild do this? Besides, hypertension is the greatest catalyst for Alzheimer’s. If you do this, to put it bluntly, you will anger your grandmother again and the chances of her developing Alzheimer’s disease are very high.”

Throughout the entire process, Jiang Yeqing was silent.

Bo Chengcheng had no intention of continuing their relationship, and on the other hand she had also been confident in Grandma’s health.

Grandma had always been in good health, and nowhere close to getting Alzheimer’s disease.

Unexpectedly, the doctor’s words came true.

Because of Grandma’s illness, Bo Chengcheng specially applied for leave to accompany her.

However, it was a new job after all. Bo Chengcheng had initially thought that Sheng An Entertainment would definitely not tolerate her absenteeism every other day. But to her surprise, Gu Mingye did not pursue the matter at all and instead allowed her to take good care of the elderly lady.

Bo Chengcheng was very much relieved given her new boss’s magnanimity. However, the signs of Alzheimer’s soon appeared in the old lady.

At this point, Jiang Yeqing was also staying here and the two of them kept seeing each other. Bo Chengcheng finally couldn’t take it anymore and told the man to leave. When this happened, Grandma suddenly shouted at him, “Old man, why did you make my granddaughter angry? Aren’t you going to coax her?”

Bo Chengcheng and Jiang Yeqing were stunned when they heard how she had addressed him.

Initially, they thought that Grandma was just joking. However, she started nagging at the man whenever she saw him.

She would go on about having no one to reap the rice in the fields and their son being a good-for-nothing who was relying on them to get by.

She would cry and lament that Bo Chengcheng had lost her parents at a tender age, that her short-lived son and daughter-in-law had died young. She also lamented that they, an elderly couple, had to look after the kids and at the same time work hard on the land.

Bo Chengcheng cried as she listened to Grandma. She brought the old lady to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor confirmed that it was Alzheimer’s disease.

After taking the medicine, Grandma’s condition stabilized. However, she would forget what she had done. She looked at Bo Chengcheng and tried to persuade her not to throw tantrums. She said that Jiang Yeqing was so much like Old Bo. Coupled with the years they had spent together, she knew very well what the younger man’s character was like.

Although Bo Chengcheng was indignant, she did not dare to talk back. She lowered her head and listened to whatever the old lady said.

Grandma was finally relieved, seeing how obedient she was now. Unexpectedly, Jiang Yeqing took advantage of the situation and brought up the topic of their marriage.
