Xie Limo explained patiently, “I made less of each dish so you can try and taste a wider variety. This will create a more balanced meal, making it better for your health.”

Yun Bixue sighed inwardly. She blamed herself for it. If she knew this would happen, she would not have gone to the amusement park. From the looks of it, Xie Limo probably got a bad scare.

She caressed Xie Limo’s forehead. “Limo, you’re not having a fever, right? You don’t have to be this concerned about me. It’s making me feel anxious too.”

Xie Limo just looked at her, and his brows simply lifted higher. His gaze was complicated. He did not know how to tell her, nor did he know if he should say it.

He was afraid that it would make her happy for something that might not be true, but he also knew subconsciously that Ling Nanchen wouldn’t be wrong.

He would need to wait for a few days to confirm it from the test results. After all, not much time has passed, and other than taking her pulse, all other apparatus wouldn’t be able to test for anything.

After hesitating for a while, Xie Limo still didn’t know how he should tell her.

He caressed her hand gently and asked, “Are you hungry now?”

Yun Bixue touched her tummy. Indeed, she was a little hungry, so she nodded her head.

When she was getting off the bed, Xie Limo went over to carefully help her.

This caused Yun Bixue to be slightly uneasy. Her complexion paled as she looked at Xie Limo. “Limo, tell me. I can take it. Am I sick?”

Her constitution had not been great recently. She could feel it herself. There were numerous times when her stomach was upset, and the explosion at the harbor the other time caused a more adverse effect on her than it should have.

Looking at how Xie Limo was acting, Yun Bixue was suspecting if she was gravely ill.

Xie Limo shook his head and answered, “Bixue, your body’s fine. You’re not sick.”

“Then why are you treating me so carefully? I’m just getting off the bed. I can do this myself.” Although Xie Limo has always pampered her, she still liked doing things herself, not wanting to rely too much on him.

When the time called for it, she still had to be strong on her own.

When Yun Bixue raised her head to see Xie Limo’s expression, she pouted. “Limo, wasn’t I okay even after falling from up there? Can you stop being so anxious? Let’s just do things normally.”

After speaking, Yun Bixue wrapped her arm around Xie Limo’s waist as she leaned in to listen to his heart thumping under his chest. The deep resounding vibrations caused by his heartbeats allowed her heart to be at ease as well.

When Yun Bixue hugged him, Xie Limo immediately looked down, afraid that he would hurt her tummy.

Just when Xie Limo was feeling conflicted about not knowing how to tell her, a phone rang.

Yun Bixue quickly let Xie Limo go. “That’s my cell phone. I wonder who’s calling? Let me check.”

Xie Limo held her down by her shoulders, making sure that she sat properly before he went to fetch her phone.

Seeing that it was his mother’s phone number, his expression shifted. “It’s from mother.”

Yun Bixue let out an expression of delight. She missed Ji Qiongxin as well, so she quickly picked up the phone. “Mother.”

“Ah, that’s great. Bixue, you’re really a good child. Aiya, you’ve made me so happy. To be able to receive this news before New Year, it makes me very happy. You have to take good care of yourself, okay? If you need to do anything, get someone else to do it for you. Don’t exhaust yourself or overthink. I’ve discussed it with your father. We will go over this New Year.”
