The Jiang family smuggling ammunition? That was something that Yun Bixue wouldn’t even have imagined. It was a gravely serious matter for a noble family to smuggle ammunition in the capital.

If this were exposed, it would cause chaos in the family.

Utter shock was written all over Yun Bixue’s face. She really hadn’t expected the Jiang family to be gambling on its own household. What a joke.

Yun Bixue suddenly sat up straight and asked, “Has the Jiang family gone mad?”

Xie Limo stayed rather calm. It was precisely because they were a noble household from the capital that they were capable of doing everything.

After pondering for a while, Yun Bixue calmed down. “Actually, I think that as the noble families grow greedier, they would become increasingly daring. It was exactly because no one would have imagined this that they could have pulled this off secretly. No one else would have been able to discover it. How did you find out?”

Xie Limo caressed Yun Bixue’s head and smiled without answering.

Yun Bixue blinked and thought about it. After a while, she chirped merrily, “Have you been keeping an eye on the Jiang family because of me?”

Xie Limo chuckled gently and answered, “The Jiang family had angered you, and they have challenged your limits. I must deal with the Jiang family, not just on the surface, but cause a stir within them. I won’t allow them time to catch their breaths. However, little did I expect…”

“You didn’t think that they would’ve caught on, right? But we’ve been acting very quietly, so how did they find out?”

Xie Limo shook his head. “My men haven’t had the chance to investigate this. However, there must be a lead somehow.”

“Even if we didn’t capture the Jiang family, this incident will sufficiently instill fear in them. After all, our identities are still hidden. They don’t know who has been keeping a check on them.”

Xie Limo nodded in agreement with Yun Bixue’s analysis. “Also, not only the Jiang family is involved in the smuggling, the other noble families from the capital have a part to play too. A single household wouldn’t dare to do it alone.”

Yun Bixue was stunned. A bright glint flashed across her eyes as she looked at him. “Does that mean that we’d be able to eradicate a few families at one go if we capture all of them? It’ll save us a lot of trouble.”

After speaking, Yun Bixue sighed and added, “I feel that something is amiss. What is the imperial family doing? Why hadn’t they found out after so long? If we were to eradicate a few noble families in an instant, the people from the imperial family would be unhappy too, right?”

Hearing Yun Bixue’s words, Xie Limo’s gaze lit up, as though he suddenly recalled something. He sat up straight and hugged Yun Bixue, looking rather excited.

Being hugged all of a sudden, Yun Bixue was confused and asked, “Limo?”

Xie Limo hastily stood up and put on his clothes. Despite his swift actions, he still remained graceful.

“Xue, you’ve given me an idea. The Jiang family might not have blown up their own ship. Someone else could have done it.”

Yun Bixue was hit with a sudden realization too. “That means the Jiang family was doing precisely as you’ve predicted. They had been smuggling ammunition and found out by us. However, someone else might have discovered that they were being watched. In order to leave no evidence, they blew up the boat.”

“That’s right. Even though the boat was blown up, the chaos from it wouldn’t die down so easily. There is still some evidence left, and the Xie family will continue to investigate.”

“What if someone tries to stop us?”

“If they do, we’ll blow up the matter, and it’ll still cause a stir in the capital and even Country A.”

Yun Bixue nodded solemnly. She knew that ammunition was strictly controlled in Country A. If this were exposed, it would indeed be shocking.

Thinking about it, she couldn’t calm her heart for a long time.
