Yun Bilu blinked her big eyes and stared at Huang Yize, as though she was trying to read his mind and see whether he really liked the cake or not.

Seeing how Yun Bilu was like a little bunny, Huang Yize’s heart softened. He took another piece of the cake and placed it before Yun Bilu as he said, “Happy now? Here, just eat it. Aren’t you hungry?”

Yun Bilu stared at Huang Yize as she asked, “You really don’t want to eat it?”

“Yeah, I don’t!”

Yun Bilu asked again to confirm. “Then I’m really eating it?”

“Okay!”

Yun Bilu still blinked as she stared at Huang Yize.

Huang Yize rubbed his brows and said, “If you don’t eat it, we’ll get ready to go out.”

“I’ll eat it!” Yun Bilu opened her mouth and ate the last piece of cake in just a few bites. She was afraid that if she took too long, Huang Yize would usher her out of the house.

Seeing how she devoured the cake, Huang Yize shook his head and walked into the kitchen to pour a glass of water.

He took the glass of warm water out for Yun Bilu and said, “Here, drink this slowly.”

Yun Bilu ate a little too hurriedly just now and did feel a bit thirsty. She really wanted to gulp down the water, but under Huang Yize’s watchful gaze, she had no choice but to drink it in small sips.

In the end, she still felt that it was not enough and wanted to go into the kitchen with the glass.

However, Huang Yize grabbed her arm and stopped her. He frowned as he said, “You still want to drink and upset your stomach?”

Yun Bilu pursed her lips. She naturally knew that Huang Yize was referring to that time when she had an upset stomach.

She stared at him pitifully and said, “But I haven’t drunk enough.”

Huang Yize felt that he had been completely defeated. “So, you’re a rice bucket and a water bucket now?” He had better not indulge this girl next time, or else there would be no end to it.

Yun Bilu felt a little embarrassed, thinking that she really ate too much today. Even if she were really a rice bucket and a water bucket, she would rather he not say it out loud. Saying it like this would make her lose face.

However, she saw that Huang Yize was reaching the limits of his patience, so she decided not to push him further.

In the end, Huang Yize poured a half cup of water for Yun Bilu. He let her drink that and forced her to rest quietly for another hour. After that, they got ready and went to attend the ball.

Yun Bilu was very curious about this ball. She did not know how it would be like.

When they reached the venue, Yun Bilu was shocked by the grandeur of the event.

After Huang Yize parked his car, she asked, “Huang Yize, who are the people attending this ball? Why do I feel like they’re all older people? There are very few people here who are around the same age as us!”

Yun Bilu craned her neck to look around, unable to hide her confusion and curiosity.

Huang Yize reminded her as he parked the car, “This is both a birthday party and a social gathering for business and politics. Watch what you say and don’t wander around. Just follow me later.”

“Okay, I understand.” Yun Bilu became serious for once. Of course, she knew how to differentiate the circumstances.

When they got off the car and entered the main hall, the lights flashed nonstop. Yun Bilu held on to Huang Yize’s arm. She held her head high and puffed out her chest, trying to walk as gracefully as she could so that she would not let Huang Yize lose face.

She had to perform the role of a girlfriend and give him face.

In the main hall, glasses clinked against each other as many people were already chatting amongst themselves.

When Yun Bilu walked in with Huang Yize, she could feel that the atmosphere was a little off. She whispered to him, “Why are there so many people looking at me with a weird expression?” She felt that it was not a look of surprise and even thought that there was fear in their eyes.

Huang Yize did not say anything. Instead, his gaze swept across the necklace on Yun Bilu’s neck. This necklace was one of a kind in the whole world.
