Chapter 1112: Reporting Director Li

The injections, medicine, clothes, and so on were all paid for by Director Li.

Director Li became a tool and ATM.

So, after a trip, Shadow’s fever subsided and he put on a warm cotton-padded jacket.

Not only did Gu Yang manage to get Director Li to buy Shadow’s medicine, but she also purchased some sweet cold medicine for Feng Jue and the others, knowing that children typically dislike bitter remedies. The sweetness made it easy for them to pretend they were drinking sugar water.

As for cotton jackets and winter clothes, Gu Yang wanted Director Li to cover those costs for the children in the orphanage. However, she knew that would be a significant expense.

Director Li wouldn’t remember what he had done once he woke up, but seeing so much money vanish would certainly raise questions. Additionally, Gu Yang planned to report him and have him replaced. Asking Director Li to buy clothes for the children at this point would only serve to clear his name, which was not her intention.

Anyway, this guy would be sent to jail soon. There was no hurry.

On the way back from the clinic.

Shadow had already woken up and his fever had subsided, but Gu Yang still let Director Li carry him.

He looked at Gu Yang who was walking in front. His voice was hoarse and weak. “Thank you.”

Gu Yang turned back and glanced at him with a bright smile. “No need to thank me.”

In winter, dark clouds covered the sun, and it was gloomy all day.

Looking at the girl’s smile, he looked up in a daze, suspecting that he had missed the sunlight.

Shadow looked at Gu Yang, hesitating. “Are you… really a little fairy?”

Although he was still young, he understood how little Director Li truly cared for them. It was unlikely that he would take the initiative to see a doctor, let alone listen to a young girl.

Gu Yang smiled and continued to play along with the child. “Yes! This is my immortal art.”

Having spent so much time with the other children, she had adopted a more playful demeanor.

He looked at her earnestly. “Fairy sister, can you teach me?”

Gu Yang was charmed by his serious expression. She smiled back and said, “Of course, but you need to recover first.”

Shadow nodded, his expression serious. “Fairy sister, I will protect you when I learn it.”

Despite his young age, he had experienced the harsh realities of life and death within his own family. He had witnessed the ruthless and ugly side of his adoptive parents and understood that there were many bad people like Director Li in the world.

The fairy sister couldn’t defeat so many bad people alone, so once he learned it, he would protect her.

Gu Yang found it amusing. “We’ll talk about that when you grow up.”

Once they returned, Gu Yang distributed cold medicine to Feng Jue and the others. They went to their dormitories one by one and soon realized that many children were suffering from colds.

After handing out the medicine, Gu Yang noticed that some children were still wearing short sleeves in the winter. She felt compelled to take action.

She called the police auntie at the station and filed a complaint, sending along the photos and recording evidence she had collected.

The photos showed the mess in the orphanage classrooms, the poor quality of the food, and children in short sleeves with snot running down their faces during winter.

When the police auntie saw the adorable little girl calling her, she felt a pang of concern. She had hoped to adopt the little cutie but was disheartened to learn that she was living in such rough conditions. With Director Li’s arrogance, the auntie immediately promised to help report the situation.

Soon, the higher-ups dispatched someone for a surprise inspection.

Director Li and the orphanage management didn’t have time to prepare any superficial checks, and all the darkness hidden within the orphanage was exposed to the light.

As a result, Director Li and several others were taken away. Director Li was found to be involved in a sum of 700,000 yuan and was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with his personal assets confiscated.
