Reborn in the 80s: The Smart Wife with a Secret Space

Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Who Do You Mean by ”They”?

Suddenly remembering what the director said in the morning meeting about not going out alone at night and not going to the back hill alone during the day, it sent a cold chill down my spine.

I dashed towards the security department.

He Jinxuan’s face changed after hearing Lin Aifeng’s words, and she quickly notified someone before rushing out with a group.

As for Yu Xinyan, she was truly anxious. She was out of her mind; she knew the situation was unusual these days yet failed to keep an eye on the two children.

She was also angry with the two children. Despite repeatedly telling them not to leave the yard, they didn’t listen.

Before cutting the clothes, she had looked outside and saw them playing marbles in the yard. Only then did she start cutting, and by the time she realized they were not in the yard, it had been about ten minutes.

If what that little girl said was true, and they followed someone to the back hill, she hoped they were just playing.

In her panic, she missed a step, and her leg bled.

She bore the pain, continuing to climb up the small path without daring to shout aloud, fearing that if the kids were caught by bad people, her shouting might alert them and endanger their lives.

Yu Xinyan was right. Ye Silai and Ye Siyan were indeed caught by someone. They had thoroughly investigated, knowing that He Jinxuan was taking care of his cousin’s two children.

Because of He Jinxuan, they had lost everything and become fugitives.

As they were suffering, naturally, they wouldn’t let He Jinxuan go. Since they couldn’t get to He Jinxuan for now, they would start with the two little ones.

As for how they lured the two children, they catered to their interests.

They found out that the two children were close to that little nanny and had heard that the nanny liked various rare plants. So, they found the greedy Niqiu and promised him a bag of milk candy if he brought Ye Silai and Ye Siyan to the foot of the back hill.

To gain his trust, they even gave him a bit of a treat first and taught him what to say to Ye Silai and Ye Siyan.

As a result, Niqiu obeyed the two men for that bag of milk candy. Coincidentally, Ye Silai and Ye Siyan knew their sister would leave in a few days and wanted to give her a gift. Niqiu’s words made the two little ones forget the warnings from their uncle and sister.

Indeed, who would suspect a child so small of lying?

Thinking they were just at the foot of the back hill where people usually came and went, even the usually cautious Ye Silai believed his words, and Little Siyan, who followed his brother, didn’t think much further.

By the time they realized something was wrong, Niqiu had already been knocked unconscious, and they both had cloth stuffed in their mouths.

Yu Xinyan didn’t walk far before she saw Niqiu lying unconscious in the grass. She ran over frantically and checked his breathing; he was still alive. She urgently slapped his face, ”Niqiu, wake up, where are Silai and Siyan?”

Niqiu’s face hurt, and he slowly opened his eyes, not even sure what happened: ”Where’s my candy?”

Yu Xinyan was truly anxious, gritting her teeth, ”I asked where Silai and Siyan are!”

Seeing Yu Xinyan angry, possibly frightened, his eyes welled up with tears. Not daring to ask about the candy again, he looked around: ”Where are they?”

Yu Xinyan patiently asked, ”Who, who do you mean by ’they’?”

Niqiu, not seeing anyone, quickly scanned around and didn’t see the candy either, getting anxious: ”Those two uncles promised me that if I called Silai and Siyan, they would give me milk candy.”

These words were said with a sobbing voice.

Yu Xinyan now understood and got anxious herself, ”Weren’t you tempted enough by that, so where are they?”
