Heat

A year after her mother's wedding, Ashley still can't bring herself to call her stepfather anything but Roger. Grief for her late father has kept her guarded, and a summer break at home with a new family is the last thing she wants. Then, on her way out for a morning run, she opens the front door and finds a tattooed stranger in a leather jacket and tinted sunglasses, army duffle bag in hand, asking for Roger by name. Between a persistent campus flirt she keeps turning down and the unsettling pull of the mysterious man now under her roof, Ashley's quiet summer is about to turn up the temperature. Who is he, and why does just one look leave her speechless?
