“Then I’ll eat two more chicken feet. I’ll stop after I have them.”

“Yes.” Xiao Yan nodded.

After eating and drinking her fill, Shi Qian felt much better. Xiao Yan helped her back to the bed.

“Sister Yan, has that person who was prying open my door been caught?”

“We’ve caught him. They’re still investigating. He might be a fan. Don’t worry,” Xiao Yan comforted him softly.

“Yes.” Shi Qian nodded. “We don’t have to stay long, do we?”

“We’ll listen to the doctor. Anyway, you don’t have any work arrangements anymore.”

“This is the Capital Hospital. I’m still a little worried that Fu Sinian will find out about my pregnancy.” Shi Qian voiced her worry.

“No, because of your special status, I asked Dr. Fang to keep it a secret. Dr. Fang is absolutely trustworthy.”

Shi Qian nodded and yawned.

“Sleep. You still have to do a checkup tomorrow.” Xiao Yan tucked Shi Qian in.

Shi Qian nodded and fell asleep before long.

After all, she was sleeping in an unfamiliar place. Shi Qian didn’t sleep very well. The next morning, she woke up when she heard footsteps outside.

It was only past seven when the nurse entered with a stack of receipts.

“These are all the tests we have to do later. We’ll take a blood sample first. After that, you can eat something. If we can do the tests in the ward, we’ll do them in the ward. We have to go to the corresponding examination department for two tests,” the nurse explained to Shi Qian and Xiao Yan.

“Okay,” Xiao Yan immediately replied.

A few minutes later, the nurse walked in.

“She will have her blood drawn. Roll up the sleeves of her clothes.”

Shi Qian immediately rolled up her sleeves. The nurse shook her hand and couldn’t help but ask, “Are you so nervous? Your hands are cold.”

“Yeah.” Shi Qian gritted her teeth and nodded.

“Relax. It won’t hurt to draw blood,” the nurse comforted her softly.

As soon as she saw the needle, Shi Qian quickly looked away. She was still afraid. After the blood was drawn, a thin layer of sweat broke out on her back.

Next, a series of tests refreshed Shi Qian’s understanding.

When she returned to the ward, she still felt dazed.

It was simply both physical and mental torture!

Especially when she had to scoop up all her clothes when she did the electrocardiogram… She didn’t want to think about that image again.

The key was that she felt that this was only the first stage of pregnancy. There were still many obstacles ahead. She was really flustered. Fortunately, Xiao Yan was always by her side.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t know how she would survive alone.

Xiao Yan poured a glass of water for Shi Qian. “Come, Qian Qian, drink some warm water.”

“Thank you, Sister Yan.” Shi Qian thanked her sincerely.

She had only taken two sips of water when her phone rang. The caller ID was Liu Yiming.

Shi Qian hesitated before answering.

“Senior.”

“Qian Qian, are you free this afternoon? Let’s have a meal with Master.”

“Senior, I… I’m sick and hospitalized. I can’t treat Master to a meal these few days. Can you apologize to Master for me?”

“What? You’re sick and hospitalized?! Which hospital are you in? Where are you feeling unwell? Why didn’t you tell me such a big thing?” Liu Yiming sounded extremely nervous.

“It’s fine. It’s not a big problem,” Shi Qian quickly explained.

“Which hospital are you in? Which department? Which ward? I’ll go over now.” Liu Yiming had already stood up and was about to walk out..
