Vacating the seat in front of the computer for Liu Feng, Lin Xian leaned over behind him, staring at the screen, and continued:

“Our advantage lies in the fact that we know for certain that Millennium Stakes dissipated in January 2000 and March 2024. Therefore, there should also be numerous Space-Time Rifts at those two temporal nodes.”

“At that time, we’ll compare the Space-Time Rift data from 1952, 1976, 2000, and 2024. If the patterns are identical or at least very similar… we can almost definitively conclude that the Millennium Stakes were indeed hammered into place in 1952.”

Liu Feng nodded:

“Not only that, Lin Xian, but we could also gain an even more crucial piece of information from this.”

He turned to look at Lin Xian:

“You and Gao Yang have discussed before, haven’t you, about what year the first Millennium Stake was driven into place? With the Time Shuttle Machine’s positioning module, we could solve that long-standing mystery too.”

“If we can identify the earliest year in which numerous Space-Time Rifts appeared, then that year is undoubtedly significant. Could it be that the Millennium Stake is named so because each stake is designed to function for exactly 1,000 years?”

Lin Xian straightened up.

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully:

“Gao Yang did propose an idea similar to yours. He even calculated, albeit in a rather simplistic manner, that if a Millennium Stake were driven in every 24 years, then driving in 42 stakes would take precisely 1,008 years—which is quite close to 1,000.”

“Although this kind of reasoning feels a bit forced, there’s no denying that some things can’t be dismissed out of hand. Fortunately, once you finish constructing the positioning module for the Time Shuttle Machine, we can finally uncover the truth behind this mystery that has plagued us for so long.”
