Genius Club

“Is it natural for the enemy to kill us easily; yet, when our plans go somewhat smoothly once, it’s a trap? That logic is too strange.”

“Indeed, Copernicus is a tough and smart one, but we are not bad ourselves. If you hadn’t informed me with the undercover information in advance… how could we have had the chance to turn the tables and kill Copernicus?”

“It’s understandable that there’s no security here, Lin Xian. A cautious person like Copernicus, how could he let others know the location of his hibernation site? I even suspect that if my secretary and body double really did come today, Copernicus might not have let them return alive.”

“Wait, look what I found.”

Angelica was rummaging through the old man’s clothes and took out a golden badge.

On the front of the badge, the logo of the Genius Club was engraved, clearly the credential for a member of the Genius Club, as well as a secret key index for attending club meetings.

Lin Xian took it, examining it closely:

“It’s real, at least I can’t tell if it’s counterfeit. It’s just like mine.”

Jask took another look:

“Whether it’s real or fake, you have to cut it open to know. I made a fake badge for my body double while he played games in the office with VR glasses on. You can’t tell if it’s real or fake without cutting it open.”

“I thought that when my secretary came to kill me, she would use that badge to verify my identity, so I was well-prepared. But maybe she was too confident, or perhaps at that time, Copernicus didn’t trust her enough… so he didn’t tell her about the Golden Badge.”
