Genius Club

“Naturally, this includes the viruses you asked about. There is no virus that cannot be eventually overcome, and there will always be new viruses emerging… Viruses, like humans, are both continuously evolving and mutating.”

“The good news is that nearly all viruses will become less lethal and less contagious over time and with the number of infections; the bad news is, during transmission and reproduction, new strains of the virus will inevitably be created.”

…

Lin Xian watched Gauss.

This slender man had received another negative answer.

Moreover, he believed that this question wasn’t even worth asking Einstein, any medical expert or virology expert could provide the same answer.

Even Lin Xian could answer this question for Gauss.

None of the people who could enter the Genius Club were fools.

So, why did Gauss always have to ask questions to which the answers were negative…

What was he really expecting?

Ultimately.

Einstein’s gaze shifted to Lin Xian’s face, onto the comical Rhine Cat Mask:

“The last genius, Rhein, what is your question?”

Lin Xian closed his eyes.

His brain quickly worked through thoughts.

In fact, he had no more questions; Copernicus and Miss Da Vinci had already asked everything he wanted to know.

Now, the biggest crisis he was facing was…

After this gathering, Copernicus was going to enter the Hibernation Pod for hibernation.

When he woke up again, the world would have changed, and it was highly likely that he himself would no longer be in this world.

[I can’t let him go into hibernation!]

Lin Xian solidified this core idea.

Once Copernicus entered the Hibernation Pod, Lin Xian would be too passive, effectively equivalent to directly losing this battle.

He must find a way to stop him!

But…

What could he do?

To keep Copernicus in the year 2024, it was necessary to throw out sufficiently tempting chips.

Think hard.

Think hard.

Lin Xian initiated a brainstorming session.

Suddenly.

He recalled a sentence that Einstein had said just moments ago—

“I will not answer any subsequent questions from you, nor will I correct any mistakes in your statements.”

[Mistakes!]

That is to say, even if one lied or produced an erroneous conclusion while asking a question, Einstein would not correct it!

This was an obvious rule.

Otherwise, asking the same question and getting Einstein to correct it before answering would be like giving the questioner two questions for free… A genius wouldn’t allow such a BUG to exist.

That’s great!

Lin Xian thought of an excellent plan!

Now, he had five advantages:

1. Copernicus has already asked a question at this meeting, and to further confirm the truth of a certain fact, he would have to wait at least until next month, September 1st, at the next meeting!

During this blank month, Copernicus couldn’t verify the facts at all.

2. Einstein only answered questions and didn’t correct statements, which allowed room for manipulative lead-ins between the premise of the question and the final inquiry!

3. Jask and Angelica have probably already managed to deceive Copernicus with their ruse, perfectly setting up a pincer move from inside out!

4. He knew exactly what Copernicus wanted the most, and that… was in his own hands!

5. The manner of questioning by Gauss and Galileo had taught Lin Xian some routines for misleading others, and now… it was his turn to put them to use!

Lin Xian opened his eyes.

Lifted his head.

Now, he was going to start lying!

He was about to use Einstein to deceive Copernicus!

“Einstein.”

Lin Xian said calmly:

“My observatory has noticed that, in just over half a month, on August 24th, an Entangled State of Time-Space Particle will pass through Earth’s atmosphere, but the difficulty of capturing it is incredibly high.”

“[My question is—]”

“If during the capture process the Space-Time Particle loses energy due to excessive contact, becoming invisible, is there any way, using a detector… to recapture its signal?”

The elderly man wearing the Einstein mask nodded:

“The key lies in ‘activity’.”

“For Space-Time Particles, activity and energy are two separate concepts and exist independently of each other, without interference.”

“A Space-Time Particle that has lost energy indeed becomes invisible and undetectable. But if you can find a way to make it lose its activity again, then it will reappear, become visible, and detectable.”

“I see.”

Lin Xian gave a slight smile and nodded:

“Thank you for the answer, I’ll be careful.”
