Genius Club

Chapter 1046: Chapter 2: Seeing the Future (Additional for Alliance Leader sfqk!)_2

It seems that there are quite a few interesting pictures of Einstein.

“I always believe that the most essential quality of a genius is—”

[Einstein] spoke solemnly and distinctly:

“[Altitude].”

He paused.

He continued:

“The most distinctive trait of a genius compared to ordinary people is the perspective from which they view problems. A true genius must stand at a sufficient height, and from a sufficient scale to overview the world, to make the most correct and rational decisions.”

“As the saying goes, the higher you stand, the farther you see; only by standing high enough can you understand what can be ignored and what is truly important; these issues… altitude will provide you the most direct answers.”

…

After finishing, his gaze rested on the person on his left, No.2, [Copernicus].

This frail old man wore a mask painted with the image of a young man.

The young man had bushy curly hair and a stern face, like a giant who disregarded the masses.

Nicolaus Copernicus.

At this moment, the old man wearing the mask hummed lightly, sounding somewhat feeble:

“This is also the seventh time I have answered this question, and I am glad it’s the last repetition.”

“My view has not wavered to this day, the most essential quality that a true genius should possess is—”

“[Nonconformity].”

He looked around with a light chuckle:

“A true genius is destined to be lonely and sorrowful; throughout human history, geniuses who have met a good end are few and far… most geniuses die from being misunderstood, unrecognized, and from the despair of grievances and not being understood.”

“Starved, burnt, and persecuted geniuses are countless… they are often too ahead of their time, thus unable to blend into the foolish society, instead regarded as unconventional and peculiar.”

“But this isolation is the destiny of a genius, the fate and injustice they must bear. I must say, now is the best era, the world and humanity of this era are willing to understand and accept geniuses, even respect geniuses.”

“As such, more so under these circumstances, geniuses should maintain their companionship with solitude and purity, unsullied by the mundane world. Only the nonconformists can perceive the real truth and hold the truly correct answers.”

…

Thereafter, Lin Xian’s gaze fell on the figure who looked like a young man but in fact was the elderly maverick, No.3, [Newton].

His mask depicted a gentleman with bushy eyebrows and big eyes, a renowned physicist, the proposer of the laws of gravitation and the three laws of motion…

Isaac Newton.

The masked maverick, as if recalling past events, spoke in a tone that was deep and distant:

“My answer is—”

“[Responsibility].”

“In this world, everyone has unique talents, more or less, stronger or weaker, but it’s undeniable that everyone has their forte and tasks.”

“However, a genius… often excels in everything.”

“Indeed, I always believe that those who possess extraordinary abilities in a particular field, a track, a specialty could only be termed talented… there are many talented people, in every era, even every day.”

“But geniuses are different; they are the favored children of nature, the gifts bestowed on humanity by the Creator, the privilege of human civilization. Hence, just as stated in the ‘Genius Club Charter,’ with great power comes great responsibility; as the privilege and hope of human civilization, geniuses must shoulder the corresponding sense of responsibility!”

“Detaching from worldly desires, inferior expectations, and common imaginations… the responsibility borne on geniuses’ shoulders is not merely for one family, one city, or one country. It is truly to set eyes on the long river of history, to stand above time and the future, to undertake the responsibility of saving human destiny and forging a splendid future!”

…

Contrary to the old maverick’s usual persona, this statement somewhat surprised Lin Xian.

But at the same time.

It also felt right.

He could sense that every person present here was not pursuing money, power, and desires like ordinary people…

Those things desperately chased by ordinary people.

In the eyes of the geniuses, they are easy to obtain, yet utterly disregarded.

Their eyes do indeed see farther things, higher ideals.

Subsequently.

It was No.4, Galileo.

This middle-aged man, serious and staid all around, wore a mask with the portrait of an old man with a big beard.

Praised as the father of modern physics, the great scientist of modern science…
