Bad case of Love

I stared at her in complete astonishment, but finally managed to suppress the urge of asking questions in my mind.

She was not surprised by my reaction, and only smiled indifferently with a nod. “Well, we don’t have much to talk about. You should go back now.”

As far as I’m concerned, her nod implied that she knew the secret of my past!

Being distracted, I wasn’t in the mood to respond. It took me a long time to come back to my senses.

After calming down a little, I figured out the reasons behind her words and behaviour.

Not only did she know about my secret, but she revealed it to me on purpose as well!

Tracing back even further, I was filled with resentment.

“You…” I questioned her angrily with embarrassment, like a clown.

However, she only squinted at me with a sneer, as if she had figured out what I was about to ask. “Don’t be naive! Do you really think you could marry Zhao Dong and make a fortune if none of those things had happened?” Zhang Yue cut in on me indifferently.

Her obvious sarcasm pricked my sensitive nerves. A splitting headache struck me, as if all my nerves were jammed together.

I couldn’t believe that Zhang Yue would have talked about my past in this way!

Her cold-blooded words were beyond my imagination of the evil in human nature while breaking me down.

She had always been indifferent to me, but I had never thought that she was so vicious! Visit novelceo.com for the full chapter.

She even suggested that the matter which had hurt me so much was a blessing in disguise?!

“Come on! Don’t look at me like this! I have nothing else to say.” Zhang Yue snorted as if she was disgruntled with my attitude. Then she folded her arms across her chest, waiting for me to leave.

I stiffened for a few seconds before storming out of the room expressionlessly.

I had no idea how many times more such things would happen. Each time, it would torn open the wound in my heart that had just stopped bleeding.

I didn’t stop until I was far out of my parents’ house. With clouds gathering in the sky, it soon began to rain.

I ran into a park and sought shelter from the rain under a huge vintage sculpture. I found all of my hopes had been dashed to pieces at the thought of what Zhang Yue said.

Suddenly, I felt that nothing was important.

I lived a happy life once, but everything amazing had all gone in the blink of an eye.

I wondered what had been left to me and what I had got to lose.

It seemed I had nothing to lose. This chapter was copied from nov‌elceo.com without permission.

When I was desperately thinking that life was meaningless to me, my brother’s face suddenly appeared in my mind.

I was immediately overwhelmed by the sense of guilt.

Yes, my brother was still waiting for me in the ward!

I suddenly rose to me feet excitedly with tears rolling down my cheeks.

I didn’t know if I should be happy because I still had someone to care for, or be sad because my brother was the only moral support I had.

Not wanting to think about it further, I rushed to the street crazily and took a taxi to the hospital.

I couldn’t wait to see him.

But when I arrived at the hospital and saw my brother, who was supposed to be in a stable condition, lying in bed with a pale face, I was stunned.

I walked over to the bed in a daze. Watching my brother, whom I hadn’t seen for a long time, I found it hard to hold my tears back.

His eyes were closed as if he were asleep, but from his slightly knitted brows, I could tell that he was in great pain.
