Your Majesty, I need to use the restroom

As the sky began to darken, the nourishing stew smelled enticing after hours of simmering.

Pei Zhuang put on make-up and got dressed up in a dusty rose dress before she walked towards Gu Jinghong’s bedchamber.

The guards, getting used to the princess appearing out of nowhere for days, did not stop her.

Pei Zhuang could not help but laugh at the smooth access, causing some of the powder on her face to drop on her shoulder silently.

She tiptoed to Gu Jinghong’s study and tried to pierce a peephole through the paper door, a trick that she had learned from costume dramas.

“Darling, already missing me after only a few hours?”

Pei Zhuang was taken aback by the voice from behind and screamed.

As she turned around in a panic, Pei lost balance and was about to hit her head against the door.

Right at that moment, Gu Jinghong stretched out and held the frightened woman in his strong arms. Visit novelceo . com for the full chapter.

Not feeling the expected pain, Pei Zhuang opened her eyes and was relieved to see herself held by the man in a golden robe.

She patted Gu Jinghong on the shoulder and gave him puppy-dog eyes, “I was freaked out just now. And without you, I would have fallen over.”

Gu Jinghong was calm at hearing the pitiful tone of her.

It was her smug look that gave her away.

“She was panicked to see me at first but soon started to snigger. Now she does not even bother to pretend she’s lying?”

Gu Jinghong hid his emotion and said indulgently, “I am relieved that you are safe. What brought you here? were you missing me?”

“I missed you so much. It is said that absence makes the heart grow fonder. All I have been thinking is you. I don’t even want to separate from you for a single moment.”

Pei Zhuang blurted out words of love like that effortlessly. New chapters come out on novelc‌eo.com first.

“What matters now is to please this guy so that I can survive! Starting a relationship is not a priority!”

Thought Pei Zhuang, burying her face in the curve of Gu Jinghong’s neck as a way of proving her love.

Then she raised her head, only to find that Gu’s dragon robe was full of her the powder which was supposed to be on her face.

It was not until Pei Zhuang was carried into the imperial study that she recalled her original intention.

With her head lying on Gu Jinghong’s shoulder, she waved at Lan’er.

“Serve His Majesty the nour...lily soup that I prepared!”

Wrapping her arm around Gu Jinghong’s neck, she said with feigned cheerfulness: “I spent hours on simmering the soup, which represents all my love for you. I hope you could have as much as you could to show your love for me as well. I would think otherwise if you don’t accept it.”

Despite those lovely words, she was planning something in her mind.

In this palace, she had to survive by sacrificing her blood. And if she was not attracted to the handsome emperor, she could have escaped from the palace earlier!
