In front of them sat an actual billionaire.

They really felt like total losers.

At their age, they usually had no more than ten thousand in their wallets, not to mention assets. But Tang Qing had more than ten thousand times that. Compared to him, the two of them were straight-up poor. Very, very poor.

”May I ask about your family background, Boss Tang?” Huang Qi carefully asked. Given how much money Tang Qing were willing to spend on his children’s education, it seemed their families couldn’t be far apart, perhaps Tang’s even richer. He couldn’t help but ask, it seemed like Tang Qing was blessed with a natural glow.

”Nothing much, just a small business related to jewelry and an overseas relative in wholesale jewelry.” Tang Qing said, chuckling lightly. There was no need to hide this information, these two could easily find out and it was best to seem ’generous’ about it.

This was the first time Dou Jiao heard about Tang Qing’s family business and she had never investigated it before. Now, she imagined an affluent family, perhaps that is why no one ever heard of the Tang family’s fortune, it was actually overseas.

”I see, sounds like a big business,” Huang Qi said, attempting to probe further.

”Not too small indeed,” Tang Qing nodded.

Seeing as Tang Qing was giving short responses, Huang Qi dared not ask further. It was enough to know a bit about Tang Qing’s background. Tang Qing obviously didn’t want to discuss more about it. He already knew too much and it would be easy to look up the rest if needed. Pressing on with the questions would only be bothersome.

Pan Yue watched Dou Jiao, who looked excited, and became somewhat annoyed. It seemed like something had crossed his mind.

”I wonder if Little Tang would take an interest in real estate.” Pan Yue suddenly asked, Huang Qi also seemed to realize something and instantly brightened, looking at Tang Qing.

”What do you mean, Brother Pan?” Tang Qing asked in confusion.

From Dou Jiao’s introduction, he knew Huang Qi wasn’t born into an official family, his family was in business, and their assets were somewhat greater than Liu Qian’s, but not by much. As for Pan Yue, he’s somewhat half an official’s child. His parents were in the chemical industry, his uncle was a top official in the coastal provinces as was his eldest uncle in his province. He did have some influence. However, he himself had studied abroad and upon returning, didn’t join his family’s company. Instead, he started his own business as an agent for high-end liquors from overseas.

So Tang Qing would directly call him ’Brother’. If he called him ’Young Master’, Dou Jiao wouldn’t like it, if he called him ’Boss Pan’, it would be distant.

Does it mean that they’re pitching for investment?

”Here’s the thing, we want to develop real estate, we have the connections, but are a bit short on capital,” Huang Qi jumped to say. He was one of the main investors in this, Pan Yue didn’t participate, he didn’t have the same interest or experience, and his business history isn’t as long, so he doesn’t have the same amount of money. All of Pan Yue’s money was invested in his merchandises.

”Can’t you guys play the ’money macht game’?” Tang Qing asked. Wasn’t that how the real estate industry usually worked? Why would these guys need to raise investment? Unscientific!

”You seem to be familiar with the real estate industry, Little Tang. But you’re not aware, not every project can play out like that. True, most real estate companies can do that, we have no issue in that regard too. However, this time, we don’t plan to develop a regular residential building. Instead, we aim to develop a villa district and a lot of my friends are doing it for the first time. In order to do it properly, we also want to use this as a demonstration for our families. It’s an experiment. So this time, we’re not relying on mortgage, nor can we borrow money. We’re genuinely seeking investment for the project,” Huang Qi explained slowly.

”So, you need investment?” Tang Qing asked. He understood Huang Qi’s intention. This villa district project requires money to buy land and build houses. Their families are watching and won’t let them mess up. Perhaps it’s also some sort of test. Maybe a test about cooperation, relationship handling and utilization, sticking to their capabilities, making friends, learning about interest alliances, etc. The list was endless.
