Chapter 222: Chapter 189: Xiong Zhiyang messed up in the cold wind (Please subscribe!)_3

Upon seeing the silencer-equipped gun in the robot’s hand, the three knife-wielding bodyguards immediately formed a protective circle around Xiong Zhiyang, ready to defend him to the death. Xiong Zhiyang had loyalty bought from merely a handful of people, not hundreds. It wasn’t hard to devise ways to make them devotedly follow him. It didn’t require too many tactics.

”You... you guys have guns. Who the hell are you?” Xiong Zhiyang stuttered, fear apparent in his voice.

The robot didn’t answer his question, but coldly said, ”Speak, Mr. Xiong. Why did you kidnap Tang Zekai? I’m counting to three. When I reach three, I can’t guarantee your safety. One.”

Xiong Zhiyang was torn at this moment, not between confessing or not, but whether he could come out of this unscathed. These people, despite likely being Tang Kai’s helpers, might target Tang Kai just like him, they might have just been contracted by someone different. Nevertheless, no matter the scenario, he was destined to lose big time.

”Two,” the robot continued.

Before the count reached three, Xiong Zhiyang hurriedly said, ”If I tell you, don’t kill us. I can give you money.”

”That depends on the value of your information.” The robot lowered its gun and said with a smirk.

Now Xiong Zhiyang could only gamble. Despite being at the mercy of these people, he would have to put his money on the line. He took a deep breath and confessed everything.

”You really don’t plan on killing Tang Zekai?” the robot asked. This was Tang Qing’s question, the answer to which would determine whether Xiong Zhiyang would survive the night.

”I truly have no plans to kill him. We’ve been old friends for so long. At most, I would release him after I obtained control of his company,” Xiong Zhiyang said hurriedly. No matter whether these people were on Tang Kai’s side or not, saying this wouldn’t hurt. Besides, he had never intended to kill Tang Kai.

After hearing Xiong Zhiyang’s entire confession, Tang Qing brooded in the command room. Everything Xiong Zhiyang had said was under Little Two’s watch, and several analysts with professional expression reading skills had observed and confirmed that Xiong Zhiyang was not lying. He indeed planned to let Tang Kai go afterward.

Tang Qing had initially thought that his uncle had been pursued and killed by this man in his previous life. But according to this revelation, his uncle was likely released by Xiong Zhiyang after ceding his company. But what was he hiding from then?

The situation was getting murkier, having a team of analysts hadn’t helped much due to the myriad possibilities.

Damn, without adequate information, all conjectures are baseless.

Gathering intelligence was no easy task. He thought about bulking up his team of analysts once the communication server was set up to scour the world for information. Otherwise, what’s the point of an analysis report that offers dozens of possible outcomes?

While Tang Qing was deep in thought, the robot wasn’t standing idly. It dutifully questioned Xiong Zhiyang about the development of his company over the years, and his relationship with Tang Kai and the Wangtai Jewelry Group.

After a while, Tang Qing reached a decision. Killing Xiong Zhiyang was out of the question as he wasn’t that bloodthirsty. But letting him go easily seemed unfair. He had deployed so many men on this mission, spending millions of RMB to exchange for robots, and he planned to have Xiong Zhiyang foot the bill. Although the robots could be reused, he still wanted a piece of the pie.

PS: Damn, this is the only Chapter for today. I am too lazy to split it into two. As an author who doesn’t stockpile Chapters, I feel like banging my head on the wall.
