Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2948: Chapter 2957: Hiding the Truth from Her Mom Right Away

The doctor probably heard some gossip from the nurse about the patient’s identity before the rescue, and dispelled any doubts. Seeing Renee’s haggard appearance, he patted her shoulder to encourage her, ”I’ve heard about Harrington Group as well, Miss Anderson. I’m very sorry. But the patient can’t be agitated anymore. You children should find a way to divert President Anderson’s attention.”

Renee forced a smile and nodded, ”I know. Thank you, doctor.”

”By the way, doctor.”

”Hmm? Go ahead.”

Renee looked troubled as she spoke, ”Um, could you please not tell my mom what you just told me? My mom is under a lot of pressure recently, and I’m afraid if she hears this, she’ll feel even worse.”

This was a normal request, and the doctor didn’t mind, agreeing readily, ”Sure. Just take good care of your dad during this period, I won’t say a word.”

Renee quietly clenched her fists, her smile strained, ”Thank you, doctor.”

The doctor didn’t notice how forced her smile was, assuming she was just upset due to the upheaval at home. After offering a few customary words of comfort, he said, ”Alright, Miss Anderson, go back to take care of your dad. I have another surgery coming up, need to check the case files now.”

”Yes, doctor, please go ahead.” She conducted herself with grace and poise, leaving a favorable impression.

The doctor whispered a few words to the nurse and left with her.

After they left, the smile on Renee’s face quickly vanished, her brows furrowing, eyes filled with confusion.

What should she do now? Her dad couldn’t handle any more stress.

If she were to cause a scene with the Sinclair Family, there was no guarantee her dad wouldn’t hear the rumors. What if he found out she was unmarried and pregnant and then lost the baby? That the Harrington Group’s bankruptcy was also related to her... She couldn’t imagine the consequences.

With her dad’s temper, he would be livid. It was usually manageable, but this time the doctor had specifically said to take extra care, not to let him be agitated. If she continued like this, she feared... something unexpected might happen.

Renee bit down on her lip until it nearly bled, her mind in turmoil. On one side was family, on the other was her dream. It felt like there was a heavy stone pressing on her chest, making it hard for her to breathe.

Was she supposed to give up this opportunity and wait until her dad got better?

Her heart was in agony. She knew very well that she couldn’t afford to wait. She couldn’t wait! The baby in her belly was already a month old. Olivia Lewis was conveniently still in the hospital, without her Manager or assistant around. This was her most reasonable and advantageous opportunity. If the baby in her belly grew any bigger, a miscarriage wouldn’t merely result in a pool of blood. If she pushed Adam too far, he might even demand a paternity test right there, and then she’d be truly defeated!

No, she couldn’t lose this opportunity!

Absolutely not!

Renee had already bitten her lower lip until it bled, the strong metallic taste mixed with the smell of hospital disinfectant stabbing at her senses. She took a deep breath, her once-confused eyes gradually filled with determination.

Yes!

She couldn’t give up!

As long as she was careful, and found a way to keep her dad in the dark, without letting him hear a whisper. Quickly taking care of Benjamin Sinclair, and only then telling her dad shouldn’t matter.

Before that, she’d need to figure out how to have a word with the doctor and nurse, asking them not to inform her mom about her dad’s condition, about him not being able to take any more stress.

Everything could wait until she resolved this!
