The person holding her seemed trapped in a nightmare, tightly embracing her, his head buried in her neck, murmuring miserably, ”Mom, don’t go...”

”I will defeat the bad guys, protect you.”

”Mom, don’t...”

This childlike murmur weighed heavily on the heart. Although Olivia didn’t know what he was dreaming about, hearing his painful mutterings, she knew the dream must be terrifying.

She reached out her hand, gently patting his back, softly comforting the man in the grip of a painful spasm, ”It’s alright, it’s all over. It’s okay, it’s already over. Won’t leave, won’t leave you...”

She treated August a bit like her younger brother, soothing him. After all, August was younger than her, and she didn’t find her childlike comforting tone strange.
