Half an hour later.

Enna Clark returned to the Lawrence Family castle alone.

The housekeeper was already waiting outside with the servants.

As soon as the car stopped, the housekeeper quickly bent down to open the car door for her, ”Young Madam, be careful not to hit your head.”

He courteously held the car door for Enna Clark, to prevent her from accidentally bumping her head while getting out, and assisted Enna as she stepped out of the car.

”Thank you.” Enna felt embarrassed and quickly got out of the car.

The housekeeper’s face, weathered by the years, was kindly and approachable. He smiled as he took a coat from a nearby servant and draped it over Enna’s shoulders, saying, ”Young Madam, no need to be so polite with me. These are all things I ought to do. Lord Lawrence called earlier saying you were only in your nightgown, so I brought you a coat. Young Madam, please go inside, it’s cold out here. Be careful not to catch a cold.”

Warmed by the clothing and the care she received, Enna felt a warmth enveloping her as she nodded, her eyes crinkling with a smile, ”Alright.”

She followed the housekeeper inside.

As the housekeeper guided her through the corridors, he said softly, ”The Old Lord has been waiting for you for over two hours. It’s good that you’re okay, Young Madam. You might not know, but the Old Lord has been very worried about your health since he saw the online news. Thankfully, you are fine, and seeing you well will put the Old Lord’s mind at ease.”

”Online news?” Enna was still in the dark. During her time on the island, she had been mostly kept in bed by Baron, with hardly any time to check the news.

So she didn’t know there were rumors outside saying she couldn’t speak.

”It’s nothing, just people online making stuff up to get clicks, fabricating stories about you losing your voice, Young Madam.”

As soon as the news came out, he knew that the situation wasn’t as serious as the news made it out to be.

If it were really that severe, at the very least, the Young Master would have sent a message back.

The Old Lord actually knew in his heart, but he was still worried about the Young Madam’s health. Though he said nothing aloud, he couldn’t hold back for two days before calling Lord Lawrence, insisting he and the Young Madam come back.

He stifled a smile, holding back a grin.

The Old Lord was just like that, caring about the Young Madam but still wanting to pretend he didn’t fully approve of her.

He, having worked beside him for so many years, knew better.

When had he ever seen someone he didn’t approve of get through the door?

If the Old Lord truly disapproved of someone, having kids wouldn’t help.

The Young Master’s birth mother was an example of that.

”The Old Lord was really worried about you this time, Young Madam. Though he doesn’t say it, he hasn’t been resting well these past few days. So when the doctor comes to check on you later, I hope you’ll cooperate for the sake of the Old Lord.”

Enna wasn’t aware that Old Master Lawrence had called a personal doctor for her, and hearing the housekeeper’s words, she pursed her lips, her bright eyes filled with concern, asking, ”Grandpa hasn’t been resting well these days? How about his appetite?”
