She finished speaking without giving him a chance to respond, immediately exhaling and relaxing her shoulders. With a smile, she softly said, ”Luckily, you brought me back to the hotel and not the hospital. I actually wanted to take a shower. If I don’t shower soon, I’m going to start smelling.”

Dammit, would it kill this woman to be a little more understanding?

His deep eyes met hers, and he smirked, ”Even if you smell, I’d still kiss you!”

”...That’s not what I meant.”

Baron Lawrence squinted his hawk-like eyes and changed his approach, ”Even if you smell, I’d still want you!”

His change was as good as none.

Enna Clark’s heart felt sweet, as if soaking in a hot spring. Her eyes were bright, and she feigned composure, saying, ”You can’t not want me anymore. We’re legally bound now.”

They were already married.

They weren’t just a couple anymore.

It wasn’t a relationship they could end just by breaking up.

”I wouldn’t not want you. Even if the whole world didn’t want you, I would still want you,” Baron firmly declared, without realizing she was teasing him.

Enna paused, unsure how to respond.

Her heartbeat quickened.

Just then, the elevator dinged as the doors opened.

Baron Lawrence pushed her out of the elevator, swiped the card, and opened the door to the Presidential Suite.

The Presidential Suite was exactly as they had left it, with 360° floor-to-ceiling windows offering an unbeatable ocean view. The room was so beautiful it resembled an exhibition piece, not a place to live.

After pushing her into the room, Baron got a glass of water for her, handed it to her, then got another glass for himself. He sat on the couch, looked up nonchalantly, and asked, ”Do you need help showering?”

”Pfft, cough...” The sip of water Enna had just drunk almost got stuck in her throat. She hurriedly declined, ”No need, I can shower by myself.”

”Are you sure you can manage? Or should I help you?” Baron squinted, clearly not believing her.

Enna nodded vigorously, ”No problem, I don’t feel uncomfortable anymore. I’m much better now. I can shower by myself. Really.”

If he helped her shower, she was afraid they wouldn’t make it to the bed.

Regret briefly flashed in Baron’s eyes, but he let her off, ”Let me know if you need anything.”

”Okay.”

Enna agreed quickly, fearing he might insist on helping her shower.

She quickly drank the water in the cup, stood up from the wheelchair, and except for feeling a bit dizzy at first, she quickly adapted.

She rummaged through her luggage in the bedroom, found her change of clothes, and went into the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of running water from the shower could be heard.

Sitting on the couch in the living room, Baron picked up the internal phone and made a call.

Not long after.

Two room service staff arrived with food.

Besides the room service staff, there was one more person.

It was Joanne Harrison, the female staff who first noticed Enna might be in danger and came to report it.

”Do you know why I called you here?” Baron crossed his legs and glanced at her, like he was evaluating her.

His gaze carried no warmth.

Unlike the warm and passionate way he was with Enna.

Joanne’s heart trembled under his gaze. She lowered her head and said softly, ”I know, the manager told me.”

”You did well last time. Take good care of my wife, and I’ll give you double the salary. But if you don’t take care of her or have any bad intentions toward her, you know the consequences!”

Enna hadn’t fully recovered yet and needed someone to take care of her.

Bodyguards were men, so many things weren’t convenient for them to do for her, but it was different with a woman. She could ask a female to help with any private matters.

Like buying menstrual pads.

Or getting towels for the shower.
