The Billionaire's Revenge

Kaitlyn

I was quite afraid as I had taken the burden on myself on my own. But what made me do this was a simple thing: he has changed.

He risked his life for me. I don’t know what I am thinking, I don’t even know how I can think of this after all the tortures. But I just think that he isn’t that bad from the heart. And I am sure there is a reason behind all this.

Although I shouldn’t be punished because I don’t even know the reason, whatever it is!

Deep down, I don’t know why, but I think that maybe, he doesn’t wanna do this. Maybe something is hurting him or did, and that’s why he is doing this.

Just if he opens up to me, I think that we can overcome this together.

I sighed. I can’t change anything by my thinking though!

I went back to my home and my room. I could have been with Daniel too because he needed me but this deal was important.

I studied the file of the client and the deal. I had to meet them later in the day. They contacted me if we wanted to postpone the meeting due to the shooting, but I can talk to them.

I know how serious Daniel is for his business.

I went to the hospital once more before the meeting. I was nervous and maybe thought that I needed a good reminder of how important this is.

I entered his ward after taking permission from the doctor. Fortunately, he wasn’t asleep.

“Hey, you are back”

I looked at him shocked. Oh, why is he talking so nicely?

“Yeah…”

“Did you prepare for the meeting?”

“Oh yeah I did”

I was completely scared till now. What was wrong with him!? Why is he talking so nicely to me…!

“Oh…”

“What’s wrong?” he asked and sat up.

“Oh you should rest--”

“It’s cool, you tell me”

“Well…” I sighed. I can’t say that I am suspicious, you always act like a bitch, what happened now?

“You are suddenly so… sweet”

“Oh, am I?”

I nodded hesitantly. He chuckled. “Well, let it remain that way”

I nodded in slow motion. Let it remain that way? Means? He wants to be nice to me? Why?

“And don’t be so suspicious, I know I was bad, but I can be good too”

I looked at him again. Oh my God. This all is kinda hard to believe, right?

“Well, that is… quite good”

“I know”

I smiled. He just looked at me. Till now I have just seen his fake smile when he faked his love and his devilish smile. I doubt if he even knows that there is something known as a genuine smile.

I was sure that he was not gonna return that smile but then he smiled. Read this novel at novelceo dot com for the best experience.

I swear to God I never thought of him as handsome as when he smiled and looked at me.

“You know, it has been a long time since I smiled like this”

“Oh yeah… I… I figured”

He smiled more and looked at the ground. Was he shy? Oh, no-no. Never!

“I hope you can get the deal” he looked at me, that smile still on his face. I nodded. I felt confident. I really thought a threat or something from him would have made sure that I did this correctly. But this behavior from him really did increase my confidence a hell lot.

I don’t know if this behavior is only because I have to get this deal or for something else or maybe he just genuinely realized his mistake…

The first option would be out if I get the deal soon. Let’s see if it is the truth or another drama.

“I will,” I replied. He took my hand and my eyes were fixed on his eyes. I didn’t know what he was doing. He was looking at my hand.

Then he brought it near his lips and kissed it. I felt something strange build up inside me as he did the gesture. I don’t know the reason why he did it, still, but I do know that no matter the intentions, it felt good to me.

Then he looked at me and smiled. “Go now”

I smiled back, on instinct. You know, a smile is contagious. “Yeah”

I went out of the ward and realized I was blushing. I don’t know, I don’t know anything. Maybe I am dumb or he is confusing, but I would really like to know the reason behind his big change.

Or behind his new drama.

I sighed. I should at least think good till I get this deal. I don’t wanna ruin anything just because I think he is starting a new drama.

And he is right, he can be good too. I shouldn’t forget he risked his life for me.
