Sister-in-law Song grinned, ”How could that be? Your Old Qi is the deputy camp commander...”

”Exactly, but the housing arrangements aren’t handled by him,” Cheng Su replied. ”Besides, your family isn’t the only one with difficulties. Actually, many people don’t have enough space. In this compound, there are numerous families cramped into just a small room.”

What she meant was, if everyone came to request arrangements like you do, whom could they help? If they help one person, they can’t help two or three!

Sister-in-law Song awkwardly said, ”Our relationship is different, we’ve been neighbors for quite some days!” Otherwise, what kind of close relationship is this? Can this be compared to others?

”In any case, if you have difficulties, find the leadership. Coming to me won’t work!” Cheng Su spread her hands, firmly refusing her request.

She closed and locked the door, securing her memories along with it.

Cheng Su returned home with her few belongings, sat in a daze for a while, greeted her mother, grabbed a basket, and went to the market for ingredients. Since people were coming over for dinner, she had to cook up some good dishes!

Since she wasn’t hosting a big housewarming, she planned to just cook a few dishes for the guests. Cheng Su made deep-fried four-happiness meatballs, which symbolized prosperity in the household, and other signature dishes like spicy chicken and spicy shrimp, perfect with alcohol.

The table in her house was foldable. When there were few people, it was just a small square table, but it could be expanded into a round table when the crowd was larger.

Cheng Su didn’t invite many people, just a few neighbors from her old dormitory and some new neighbors from this area. Everyone had a lively meal, drank a couple of glasses of wine, and that was considered her housewarming.

After the meal, everyone helped clean up the mess, watched some TV, discussed the house, and then gradually left.
