Chapter 1668 - 1669: Don’t Ever Think You’ll See My Son Again

When Qi Fenglian received the call from her mother, she was happily getting New Year’s Eve dinner ready with Xiao Yun, but the moment she heard the news on the other end of the line, it felt like a basin of ice water had been dumped over her, chilling her to the bone; her whole body went stiff and numb.

Not caring about preparing the New Year’s Eve dinner anymore, she immediately dropped what was in her hands and rushed to head back to Flower County.

This was her first New Year’s Eve since she remarried, she had been so happy, but now she could only let down Chu Changxing and his son.

But Chu Changxing and his boy didn’t say anything; now that Xiao Bao had been set up, who knew if something serious might happen. As for where they spent the New Year, it was all the same—what mattered was that the family was together.

Right then, the whole family packed up their things and hurried anxiously toward Flower County.

”They really are here.” Chu Zheng came running back from the nurses’ station, panting, to report.

They all headed toward the ward. Just as they reached the door, they saw Cheng Su and the others coming out holding Baobao. At the sight, Qi Fenglian let out a wail, and her legs just went weak.

Cheng Su and the others were also stunned when they saw Qi Fenglian and her group.

”Bao, Xiao Bao.” Half of Qi Fenglian’s soul had been scared right out of her; only when she heard her son call out did she come back to herself a little. Supported by Chu Changxing and the others, she shook them off and lunged forward.

”Mom...” Xiao Bao was held tight in Qi Fenglian’s arms, his small hands clinging to her neck as he sobbed loudly.

Obviously, Xiao Bao had been terrified too; now that he’d seen his own mother, how could he not cry?

Cheng Su and the others listened to Chu Changxing’s explanation of how they’d gotten the news; it turned out that as soon as his mother-in-law left, she’d called them, so they had also just rushed back from Qing City.

Qi Fenglian looked her son over from head to toe; seeing that aside from being a bit pale he had no other obvious issues, she finally let out a breath of relief. ”I must’ve been blind back then to end up with a heartless bastard like you. I knew you were ruthless, but I didn’t know you were this ruthless—you actually dared risk your own son. Zhang Jisheng, you’re not fucking worthy of being called a man, you’re not worthy of being my son’s father. If anything happens to my boy, that brat of yours can forget about staying alive! You still want to use my son’s bone marrow for a transplant? Screw you. You and that bitch of yours are daydreaming. Even if I have to watch him die, I will never let my son come forward to save him!” Qi Fenglian screamed at Zhang Jisheng, spitting right in his face as she cursed.

Hearing such vicious words, Zhang Jisheng’s expression changed over and over, but he didn’t dare say anything, just hung his head.

His pitiful look wasn’t enough to win anyone’s sympathy, especially not Cheng Su’s, who knew the inside story; to her it only looked all the more ironic.

He wanted to save his son but wasn’t willing to use an adult as the donor and instead wanted to use his own younger son—Zhang Jisheng’s brain must’ve been kicked by a donkey, to be so completely under the thumb of Lai Jinlan, that woman.

”Let me tell you this, Zhang Jisheng: from today on, don’t you even think about seeing my son again, not once.” Qi Fenglian hurled down another ruthless line.
