As Cheng Su left to cook, Qi Taiguo asked Ning Ge, ”Over on Chiang Qing’s side, no unexpected incidents, right?”

”Following your instructions, she was transferred to another hospital right after Jiang Conghe and the others were detained.” Ning Ge’s voice was very low, ”I also had Jiang Dafang ’check on’ her from time to time. I figure she should know the downfall of the Loo Family and the Chiang Family by now!”

Transferring Chiang Qing was Qi Taiguo’s idea. He just didn’t want Jiang Conghe to have a chance to release Chiang Qing, this ticking time bomb, to harm anyone; he wanted to eliminate any hope of freeing Chiang Qing from the start.

Qi Taiguo relaxed slightly and said, ”Your sister-in-law has a soft heart, it’s better not to let her know about this.”

He was just worried that Cheng Su, being a woman, would soften and feel pity for Chiang Qing. He didn’t want her conscience to be uneasy about this dirty business; it should be up to them to handle it!

”Got it, women are all like that.” Ning Ge understood.

Qi Taiguo laughed again, ”Now that their case is settled, we really should breathe a sigh of relief. How about a drink tonight, just the two of us?”

”Who’s afraid of whom? No return until we’re drunk!” Ning Ge raised an eyebrow smugly.

Qi Taiguo pointed at him, got up, and retrieved his treasured liquor, ”52 degrees.” He then asked Cheng Su to fry a plate of salty crispy peanuts to go with the drink, and he and Ning Ge continued their conversation.

Meanwhile, over in Yanjing, as Chiang Qing listened to the news passed on by Jiang Dafang, her pale face suddenly cracked.

Her almost bloodless lips trembled slightly; she could hardly believe her ears.

Although Jiang Dafang had previously come to tell her about the happenings at home, she only thought Jiang Dafang was trying to scare her, making a mountain out of a molehill. Even if such things really occurred, with the capabilities of both families, they would surely weather the storm.
