Already anxious and irritated, she turned and shouted at her, ”Stop crying, why are you wailing like a funeral?”

Qi Fengping stopped crying when she was yelled at. She wanted to retort, but seeing the family focused solely on Cheng Su, she swallowed her words. What happened?

In a hurry, Cheng Su dialed the Ning Family. It was Ning Ge’s sister-in-law who answered, and Cheng Su gave her name and asked if Ning Gang or Old Master Ning was there.

By the time Old Master Ning took over the call, Cheng Su’s eyes were already red, and her voice was choked with emotion: ”I heard Taiguo is being treated in the Capital. Do you have any way to contact him?”

”How is it?”

Cheng Su wiped her tears and said, ”He’s fine, just injured his back. They chose to treat him in the Capital because the medical care there is better. He’s recovering well and said he’d call back.”

Though Old Master’s words were reassuring, Cheng Su couldn’t really set her mind at ease without seeing it for herself. Plus, if it wasn’t serious, why would he be treated in the Capital for so many days?

After hearing this, Mother Qi quickly uttered ”Amitabha” and set off to offer incense without another word.

Qi Father also breathed a sigh of relief, collapsing into his chair. It’s good that his son is fine. Then he looked at Qi Fengping, and his headache started pounding again.

The whole family waited for Qi Taiguo’s call. Cheng Su didn’t leave for a moment, wishing she could crawl through the phone to Qi Taiguo. She even considered whether to leave for the Capital the next day to see for herself.

When Qi Taiguo received the notice from Old Master Ning, he was a bit surprised.
