Chapter 324: Chapter 324 Military Doctor Chiang Qing

Within a couple of days, Cheng Su had already received the remittance deposit from Guobin through Ning Ge and started producing the sauce. Since the other party had requested a special batch, Cheng Su personally took charge, leading the team to make the sauce with every detail attended to meticulously.

While Cheng Su was busy, Qi Taiguo was having no easier a time at the military base. The military doctors and nurses assigned to the Military Health Office had already reported for duty, however, Qi Taiguo saw an extremely unexpected face.

Curly hair, red lips, and phoenix eyes—wasn’t this vibrant face none other than Chiang Qing, who had claimed to have saved Qi Taiguo’s life?

”Commander Qi, we meet again!” Chiang Qing said, smiling as she extended her slender hand to Qi Taiguo.

Qi Taiguo’s surprise lasted but a moment before he composed himself to handle the situation formally, though he didn’t shake her hand and instead saluted: ”Doctor Chiang, hello.”

Chiang Qing’s eyes narrowed slightly, her hand returning as if nothing had occurred.

Using her family connections, she had almost instantly acquired his personal profile on the same day he had left.

Qi Taiguo, twenty-eight years old, married to a woman with little education from a rural background. He began his military service at sixteen and, over the past twelve years, accumulated numerous achievements and military honors, demonstrating both bravery and strategy. Hence, at such a young age, he had climbed to the rank of company commander.

And now, Chiang Qing was even surer of what she had thought all along.

Chiang Qing did not hide the interest she held for Qi Taiguo in her eyes, prompting him to frown slightly.

”Huh, you two know each other?” Regimental Commander Mai raised an eyebrow.

”Regimental Commander Mai, back when we were in Xiangxi, I ’saved’ Commander Qi’s life!” Chiang Qing said with a laugh, giving Qi Taiguo a deep look.

Regimental Commander Mai slapped his forehead as if suddenly remembering, ”Ah yes, I heard about that. I heard Commander Qi was bitten by a spider, and just by chance, Xiao Chiang, you were conducting some research in those mountains and had a medical kit with you. You gave Commander Qi antibiotics!”

”I was just there for fun, it wasn’t really research,” Chiang Qing replied cheerfully. ”Commander Qi was just lucky!”

”Come on, Xiao Chiang, you’re being too modest. Isn’t it well known that you’re well-versed in medicine for treating and saving people? Weren’t you also part of the team researching the serum for the Five-step Snake Venom?” Regimental Commander Mai said. ”You could be considered our military region’s ’female Norman Bethune’.”

”Regimental Commander Mai, you flatter me. I was just assisting the professors; I can’t claim to have been involved in the research,” Chiang Qing said humbly, then glanced at Qi Taiguo again, ”I heard that Commander Qi is a young and promising figure with distinguished military achievements, a true iron soldier of the department!”

Qi Taiguo said indifferently, ”Doctor Chiang, you give me too much credit. Despite your young age, you are already a military doctor, selflessly serving our country, which is truly commendable.”

His ears were not deaf; he surely caught the subtext in Regimental Commander Mai’s words—that Chiang Qing might not be simple either.

”Let’s leave those words between us, Commander Qi, you might not think much of someone like me who deals with patients,” Chiang Qing giggled softly.

The implication behind her words seemed a bit ambiguous, causing Qi Taiguo’s thick brows to furrow lightly.

”Alright, alright, no need to keep complimenting each other. In any case, you are both impressive and extraordinary!” Regimental Commander Mai clapped his hands. ”Commander Qi, take Military Doctor Chiang and her colleagues to the dormitories in the courtyard to settle in. Xiao Chiang, there will be a welcome dinner for you in the canteen tonight. We can chat more then!”

”Then I’ll trouble Commander Qi,” Chiang Qing said, looking towards Qi Taiguo.
