I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 4044: Chapter 4032: I’ll Give It a Try

Then, Zhao Jing introduced both sides to each other.

The woman’s name is Zhou Xuejiao, a classmate of Zhao Jing and also the owner of this hot pot restaurant.

Coming here today for a meal is also showing support for her.

”Who would believe you two are colleagues? I’ve never seen you out for a meal alone with a guy.” Zhou Xuejiao teased with a smile:

”Come on, I’ve already reserved the spot for you.”

When women start gossiping, it can be endless. Zhao Jing didn’t bother to explain anymore; to her, it was all insignificant.

Zhou Xuejiao then led the two to their designated seats.

”So Director Zhao invited me for dinner to give flowers to Buddha.”

”Don’t say it like that, eating is the same everywhere, and coming together saves a bit.”

Then, the two began ordering food, and Zhao Jing didn’t hold back, ordering a portion of the special items.

”Come, come, come, order anything today, no matter how much you eat, it’s all on me.”

Just as the two sat down, they heard a young man at the neighboring table calling out loudly.

Lin Yi turned to look and found about seven or eight people at the table next door, both men and women, all very young.

The man speaking was quite tall, possibly over 190cm.

Some of the shorter girls might not be taller than him even when standing.

”Sun Qi, what’s up with you today, being so generous?” a long-haired girl asked with a smile.

”It’s not me being generous, it’s the boss.”

The man named Sun Qi pointed to a nearby wall.

”There’s a challenge task on the wall. If we succeed in the challenge, the meal is free, so feel free to eat today without spending any money.”

”Are you sure you can do it?”

”Today’s challenge is touching high from a standing position. I’m 193cm tall and am the main player on the school team. Not to mention this hot pot place, there are few people in all of Zhong Hai who can jump better than me.” Sun Qi said confidently:

”So don’t hold back today, just eat freely.”

Listening to the conversation next door, both Lin Yi and Zhao Jing looked over.

Indeed, they had ordered a lot, and the table was full, yet the waiter was still bringing more items.

”These people are really something...” Zhao Jing said complainingly.

Lin Yi glanced at the promotional ad on the wall.

There was a wall with the challenge activity printed on it. If you succeed in the challenge, you can enjoy the meal for free.

”That free meal event starts at eight in the evening, held once a day with a different challenge each day,” Zhao Jing said.

”It’s quite interesting.” Lin Yi looked at the event on the wall, ”Today’s challenge is touching high from a standing position.”

”This activity seems to favor taller people. If a basketball player comes along, others might as well not bother.”

As he spoke, Zhao Jing glanced at the man named Sun Qi.

”I’ll try my best not to make Director Zhao spend today, also saving money for your friend.”

”Hmm?”

Zhao Jing looked at Lin Yi, ”Are you going to give it a try?”

”It’s free to participate anyway, might as well try.”

”Then I’ll look forward to Principal Lin’s performance.”

”Is just looking forward to the performance enough? At least offer something substantive as a reward.”

”If you succeed in the challenge, I’ll use the saved money to book you a room.”

Zhao Jing said confidently, certain that Lin Yi wouldn’t win.

After all, that person named Sun Qi had too much advantage.

”It’s a deal then.”

After discussing the challenge, the two chatted about other things.

”You mentioned earlier that you might resign soon, what’s next? Have you thought about what to do?”

”I haven’t thought it through yet. Anyway, I can’t stay idle. If you have something, you can come find me.”

”That’s what you said, but from now on, we’ll have to interact as friends. I’ll need to get used to that.”

”I’m not saying I’m going behind bars; what’s there to adapt to?”

”Behind bars?”

Zhao Jing paused for a moment, initially not understanding Lin Yi but quickly got it, laughing uncontrollably.

Joking with a mature woman has this perk; rarely do they feel embarrassed and might even tease you back.

The two ate and chatted, and soon it was eight o’clock.

At this time, the server brought out a High-touch Device, then Zhou Xuejiao took the microphone and went to the center of the hall.
