I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 4020: Chapter 4008: Sister Jing, Is Something Going On Between Them?

”Are you also in contact?”

Zhang Qingyu and Ma Liansheng both looked at Zhao Jing in surprise.

But their expressions were different.

If Zhao Jing made contact, then the opportunity was hers; otherwise, it would go to Ma Liansheng.

Zhao Jing nodded, ”But there’s no news yet, might need to wait a bit longer.”

”Do you know anyone inside?”

Zhao Jing shook her head.

The excitement on Zhang Qingyu’s face was gradually fading.

In this situation, Zhao Jing might not be able to compete with Ma Liansheng.

”Director Zhao, your idea might fall through,” Ma Liansheng confidently said:

”I have some connections on my side; getting this venue shouldn’t be a problem. You might have to look for a different place.”

Zhao Jing said nothing. For so many days, Lin Yi hadn’t messaged her, and she felt a bit hopeless.

Bzz bzz bzz—

At this moment, Zhao Jing’s phone rang, and she saw it was a message from Lin Yi.

But the message was just a phone number and a contact, leaving Zhao Jing puzzled.

Before she could respond, Lin Yi’s call came through.

”I’m in Director Zhang’s office.”

”Really?”

”Alright, alright, I’ll come to find you soon.”

After hanging up, the joy on Zhao Jing’s face was unmistakable.

”Director Zhang, the venue is settled. We’ve negotiated it.”

”Hmm? Which venue?”

”The Mercedes venue; it’s already decided. Now, it’s just about discussing the details.”

”Negotiated?”

Zhang Qingyu looked surprised and turned to Ma Liansheng.

”It’s impossible! I have insiders, and we haven’t even negotiated it yet. How could you have secured the venue?”

”Different connections lead to different results,” Zhao Jing replied a bit rudely.

”But you just said you didn’t know anyone in this area.”

”I don’t know anyone, but that doesn’t mean others don’t.”

”This...”

For a moment, Ma Liansheng didn’t know what to say and sat silently, feeling very awkward.

Zhang Qingyu sat on one side, vaguely guessing that Lin Yi likely helped with this.

”Director Zhang, please wait a moment. I’ll make a call.”

Saying that, Ma Liansheng hurried out of the office.

Now, in the office, only Zhang Qingyu and Zhao Jing were left.

”Is the venue confirmed? No unexpected issues?”

”Yes, there won’t be any problems. Next is discussing details and costs.”

Zhang Qingyu’s state relaxed immediately.

”If I’m not mistaken, that kid Lin Yi must’ve helped you settle this.”

”Director Zhang, you even guessed this correctly.”

”Be honest with me, is there something between you two?”

Seeing Zhang Qingyu shift the topic to this, Zhao Jing’s expression suddenly became tense.

”Director Zhang, you shouldn’t gossip like this; lead by example and be a good leader.”

”I’m just concerned about my subordinates.”

”The problem is Lin Yi is married, even has kids. How could I possibly get involved in this?”

”We’re all grown-ups, been through the corporate grind for years. Saying that is not meaningful.”

Zhang Qingyu chuckled and lit a cigarette, saying:

”Though I don’t have the right to meddle in your affair, since you’ve got the venue sorted, it’s almost certain. Go prep a bit more, and check your proposal. It’s giving me a headache. Find someone knowledgeable to polish it. Don’t let success make you overconfident.”

”Got it, I’ll go work on it now.”

Zhao Jing stood up, tidied her clothes.

”Director Zhang, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”

”Go take care of business, settle the venue quickly, get the contract signed, before things get complicated.”

”Understood.”

Leaving the office, Ma Liansheng was still outside making a call.

Zhao Jing smiled and greeted him, then hurriedly left.

Seeing Zhao Jing leave first, a sense of foreboding rose in Ma Liansheng’s heart. He quickly hung up the phone and returned to Zhang Qingyu’s office.

”Director Zhang, why did Zhao Jing leave?”

”Nothing much, I just let her go ahead,” Zhang Qingyu calmly said:

”How’s the call going? Any result on the venue?”

Ma Liansheng’s face turned sullen, ”There’s indeed some problem on that side; I’ll think of a way, try to fight for it.”

”Alright, go ahead. Come to me when you get results.”

Zhang Qingyu casually responded, not genuinely concerned.

After all, Ma Liansheng was an old-timer; some face had to be given.

Ma Liansheng nodded, left with a grim face, returned to his office, and dialed his sister-in-law’s number.

”Xiao Li, I didn’t finish earlier. Can you try to sabotage this deal?”

”That might be difficult. I can try, but it’s ordered by our leaders.”
