I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 3860: Chapter 3848: If You Don’t Apologize, I’ll Kill You

Lin Yi adjusted his sitting posture, crossing one leg over the other.

”This is your job, I get how you feel, but our show doesn’t have any tax issues at all. You can investigate as you like.”

The staff member sitting opposite him smiled.

”But you need to understand, admitting it yourself and getting caught by me are two completely different things. This is very serious. You’re just a small employee, don’t let someone use you as a gun without even knowing it.”

”I understand what you mean, but there really is nothing wrong with our show.” Lin Yi smiled and said:

”But I am curious—who reported us? Was it Wang Minji?”

The two of them exchanged a look, not quite sure who Lin Yi was talking about.

”We received an anonymous report call. We don’t know who it was, and even if we did, we couldn’t tell you.”

”I understand your rules.”

Lin Yi shrugged and said, ”Anything else you want to ask? Do you need me to go back with you for further investigation? I’ll fully cooperate.”

The two pondered for a moment. ”No need to come with us, but we’ll repeat what we just said—you’d better think this through. If something goes wrong, you’ll be the one taking the fall. This is not a joke.”

”Okay, got it.”

The two stood up and walked out with serious expressions.

Seeing them come out, Zhao Jing walked up, exchanged a few more polite words, and then escorted them off, watching until they got in the car and left.

”They didn’t give you a hard time, did they?”

”How could they? They’re public servants after all, how could they make things hard for me?” Lin Yi said:

”I think right now, we need to figure out who reported us.”

”Aside from Wang Minji, it can’t be anyone else,” Chu Hao said.

”That’s what I thought at first too, but then I came up with another possibility,” Lin Yi said:

”The entertainment industry is no wholesome place. It’s very likely someone from the capital side wants to take down Mao Yi and Zhou Shen, so they snitched on them in the dark, trying to screw them over.”

Zhao Jing frowned, her expression more serious than ever.

At first she hadn’t overthought it, just assumed it was Wang Minji pulling strings behind the scenes.

But after hearing Lin Yi’s take, she had to admit it was possible. The entertainment circle was indeed more complicated and darker.

”I’ll call their agents later and see what’s going on.”

”Director, with something like this happening, can our show still go on as normal?”

”We’re walking straight and sitting upright, we’ve got nothing to fear.”

The three of them discussed a few more things together, then went off to their own tasks.

Just like Zhao Jing said, since they had nothing to hide, they weren’t afraid of anyone checking, so their work state wasn’t affected.

With nothing pressing to do, Lin Yi went back to the office to slack off.

”Lin Bro, I found two good clips; take a look and see if they work.” Zhao Yuhuan said.

”Forget the clips for now. There’s a transfer opportunity—are you in or not?”

”Huh? A transfer?”

”Yeah, to the News Center. You’d still be doing your old job, just no more going out and showing your face.”

Zhao Yuhuan looked at Lin Yi in surprise. ”Lin Bro, are you getting transferred?”

Lin Yi nodded. ”So I came to ask you. If you want to go, I can take you with me. If you don’t, you can stay here.”

”If you’re going, I’m going with you.”

”Don’t look at me. You need to think this through yourself before you decide.”

”I already did. It’s post-production wherever I am anyway. If you leave, staying here won’t be any fun.”

”The day after tomorrow the News Center is holding a recruitment. Zhao Jing will give us a written test then; it’ll just be a formality.”

”Mm-hmm. But what about our account?”

Zhao Jing said we should take it with us; might come in handy later.

”Got it.”

After chatting with Zhao Yuhuan for a bit, the two of them went to lunch.

In the afternoon, things were relatively relaxed for Lin Yi. After slacking off for a while, he took Zhao Yuhuan to the studio.

”Eh, Lin Bro, listen—sounds like there’s someone inside. Are they rehearsing?”

When they got to Studio One, Zhao Yuhuan pointed inside.

”Probably. With singing like that, if it’s not Xu Qingqing, it couldn’t be anyone else.”

Zhao Yuhuan covered her mouth and laughed. ”Lin Bro, you’re so mean. Sure, she’s not on the same level as those top singers, but in terms of skill, Xu Qingqing is actually not bad.”

”But that’s all she is—just ’not bad.’”
