I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 3678: Chapter 3670: I Am Song Jinmin

Hearing the words ”stock shorting,” their hearts inexplicably beat faster.

They even felt a bit excited.

”But the core mechanism of shorting is to make their stock price drop. We don’t have the means to short Kaijie Group.”

Lin Yi smiled mysteriously, ”Don’t worry, I have a way.”

”I realize Brother Qi and I were a bit too conservative. We should have, like other employees, complete confidence in you.”

”Confidence is necessary, but blind confidence is not.”

Lin Yi raised his glass with a smile.

”Come on, have a drink. It’s going to get busy soon.”

The three clinked their glasses.

They drank it all in one go, and Lin Yi started arranging the follow-up tasks.

Other diners at the food stall listened to the three of them chatting.

They showed contemptuous expressions.

Talking about billions like it’s nothing—what braggers.

About an hour later, Lin Yi had finished arranging the plan.

”By the way, there’s one more thing to mention. In a while, leaders from relevant departments may want to have a chat with you two. Be mentally prepared, Lingyun Group has to play its part in this drama.”

”Understood,” Qi Xianzhao said:

”Our current task is to find a way to boost their stock price.”

”Right, my task is to short them. We’ll go separate ways.”

”Understood.”

After discussing business, the meal was almost finished.

Tian Yan went to pay the bill, and she and Qi Xianzhao called a chauffeur.

Lin Yi drove himself home.

On the way back, Lin Yi dialed Shen Shuyi’s number.

”Mom, are you busy?”

”Not busy, go ahead.”

”The time is ripe. I’m ready to short Kaijie Group. Do you want to join in and earn some foreign exchange?”

”How sure are you about this?”

”One hundred percent sure; it’s just a matter of how much we’ll earn.”

”What’s the method for shorting them?” Shen Shuyi asked:

”Kaijie Group’s financial reports are clean, and the negative news over the years isn’t enough to affect them. The internal gossip of the group isn’t fresh either. I can’t imagine how you plan to short them.”

Lin Yi chuckled.

”I can’t reveal it now, but I have absolute confidence.”

”Okay, just let me know when I need to follow up.”

”Got it.”

After going home, Lin Yi explained the plan again to Ji Qingyan.

Like Shen Shuyi, she quickly pinpointed the core issue.

It was the method of shorting Kaijie Group.

”The entry point is Synopsys.”

”Then what? They’ve also imposed sanctions on us. How do you plan to penetrate the enemy’s ranks?”

”Hehe, I’ll leave that as a little secret for now. You’ll find out later.”

”You’re being all mysterious even with me.”

After finishing this matter, Ji Qingyan went to deal with other things.

Lin Yi posted the relevant information in the group chat.

Hoping they could also earn some money.

Everything was ready, and it was already past eleven at night.

The next step was to wait for the incident to ferment and let Kaijie Group’s stock price rise.

Then short them opportunistically.

Over the following days, the incident continued to ferment.

The foreign community was harmonious,

believing Lingyun Group had backed down and was about to hand over the lithography machine and chip core data.

Even the official departments maintained an ambiguous stance,

seemingly signaling to the outside world that this matter had been settled.

Conversely, domestically, Lingyun Group was under unprecedented pressure.

Citizens overwhelmingly criticized, making Lingyun Group the target of public criticism.

Coupled with official department interviews,

Lingyun Group was almost being denounced by everyone.

Such sentiments also affected internally within Lingyun Group.

Some were firmly convinced the group wouldn’t do such a thing.

There were also some uninformed bystanders discussing potential outcomes.

However, as time passed, this phenomenon did not subside.

Moreover, under Lin Yi’s instructions, the public relations department’s statement remained ambiguous.

Further fueling speculation from those with ulterior motives, believing Lingyun Group might indeed sell the information.

Xiao Bing’s ability to disseminate rumors was top-notch, and similar news emerged one after another, causing associated company stocks to plummet.

The positive impact from previous press conferences also vanished.

As a leading domestic tech enterprise, Lingyun Group’s turmoil also shook the industry.

Everyone was observing the outcome of this event, unsure to what extent it would evolve.

During these days, Lingyun Group signed a purchase contract with a fruit machine manufacturer.
