I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 3584: Chapter 3576: I Pay Your Salary, So You Work for Me

Lin Yi didn’t say anything.

He waited for Chen Yuying to continue.

”Your main job is to drive my sister around. You’ve seen what she’s like just now.”

”Is there something wrong with her?”

”She’s in her senior year of college and doesn’t have many classes now. I want her to study abroad, so I’ve registered her for TOEFL and GRE. Your job is to take her there and back.”

Lin Yi was a bit confused.

”Does she really need someone to drive her?”

”If no one’s watching her, there’s no telling where she’ll run off to by lunchtime.”

Chen Yuying shrugged.

”So your job may not just be driving; you might need to keep an eye on her and stop her from running around.”

”That might be a bit difficult.”

”What’s difficult about it? Afraid you can’t handle her?”

”It depends on how it’s done,” Lin Yi said:

”I’m just a driver. Driving well is my job, and you pay me for it, so it’s my obligation. But keeping an eye on her and stopping her from running around requires more than just a salary. It’s not even about the salary amount; without the proper authority, I can’t fulfill the obligation.”

Lin Yi paused before continuing:

”For instance, if you want me to manage the company, why would people listen to me? The same applies to your sister; why would she listen to me?”

Chen Yuying looked at Lin Yi, surprised by his logic.

This was indeed a crucial point.

Even as her own big sister, she sometimes couldn’t control her.

So why would a driver be able to?

”I’ve already considered that. If necessary, you can use some force,” Chen Yuying said:

”Even if it means binding her, you have to take her there. Of course, if you have other ways to make her learn, that’s even better.”

”We can give it a try, but I can’t guarantee success.”

”No problem,” Chen Yuran said:

”Let’s talk about the salary and benefits now.”

Lin Yi nodded, waiting for her to continue.

”The probation period is one month with a salary of 6,000, and after that 8,000, with five social insurances and one housing fund,” Chen Yuying said:

”Driving her around is not a long-term job. Once it’s over, we’ll assign you other tasks.”

”No problem.”

The salary wasn’t much of a concern for Lin Yi.

As long as the job wasn’t too demanding, he was fine.

”If you have no objections, I’ll have Zhu Zhen arrange your employment,” Chen Yuying said:

”When would be convenient for you to start?”

”Anytime is fine.”

Chen Yuying glanced at her watch, ”It’s almost time to clock out. Give us a ride home later so we can see your skill level.”

”Sure.”

After discussing salary and job contents,

Lin Yi got up to leave and went to Zhu Zhen’s office.

Chen Yutong was there as well.

Seeing Lin Yi, she hurried over.

”How did it go? My sister didn’t give you a hard time, did she? But don’t worry, I’ve picked you. If she doesn’t agree, I’ll argue with her.”

”It went great, I can start now.”

”Haha, that’s awesome.”

Chen Yutong lifted her chin and patted Lin Yi’s shoulder.

”As expected from the person I chose, you managed to handle my sister.”

Then Chen Yutong looked at Lin Yi.

”Brother Zhu, hurry up and get him employed.”

”Sure.”

Chen Yutong pulled Lin Yi to the side to sit down.

”Did my sister already tell you what you’ll be doing? What are your usual tasks?”

”Driving you to and from school.”

”And then?”

”That’s it.”

”That’s a bit much, but it’s not a big deal.”

Chen Yutong’s eyes darted around,

as if she was thinking of a plan.

”Lin Bro, come with me.”

Chen Yutong, with a serious face, pulled Lin Yi to the door and whispered:

”How much salary did my sister offer you? What’s the deal?”

”6,000 during probation, 8,000 after, with five social insurances and one housing fund.”

”How about this, I’ll give you 15,000 during probation and 20,000 after, but without the benefits. That should make up for the lack of insurances.”

”Huh? What do you want in return for such a high salary?”

”You get paid by me, so you work for me. If you earn my salary, you listen to me.”

”How do I listen to you?”

”From now on, we’re on the same team. You don’t have to listen to my sister anymore, just follow my instructions. Rest assured, I won’t ask you to do anything against morals or principles.”

Chen Yutong said:

”Basically, from now on, you’re with me. As long as I have meat, you’ll have a bowl of soup.”

Lin Yi was both amused and helpless.

”This feels like joining a gang.”

”Pretty much, as long as I pay your salary, just listen to me.”

”Alright.”

Lin Yi casually agreed.

But he wouldn’t go along with Chen Yutong’s antics.

”Lin Yi, come over here.”
