I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

”Maybe it’s because they’re twins, or maybe because they’re close in age, but the siblings grew up very close. Uncle Chuan is four years older, often not playing together, so the two of them did everything together. Their talents were exceptionally good.”

”Comparable to my dad?”

”Not quite that amazing,” Shen Shuyi said:

”I don’t understand the dealings here, but they were indeed quite skilled, and your dad and Xingyue had a good relationship. When they fled Jing City, it was Xingyue who helped him escape.”

”What happened afterward?”

”Not long after, Chun Xiao met her fate. Though deeply attached as siblings, Elder Lu, considering the bigger picture, chose not to seek revenge, but Xingyue didn’t agree, and soon left.”

”Did he take revenge?”

”I don’t know, you should ask your dad.”

”Ask him?”

”Your dad left less than two years after, and he too left,” Shen Shuyi said:

”I heard your dad made a name for himself back then, and running away, Xingyue only had your dad to turn to, thus there might be hints in what your dad knows.”

”How does this relate to betrayal?”

”Because before he left, he arbitrarily stole files from the intelligence department, uncovering much about that mission,” Shen Shuyi said:

”You should know the serious implications of this matter.”

”Without special circumstances, it does indeed qualify as betrayal.”

”And that’s not the worst,” Shen Shuyi said:

”From that departure, he never returned, nor did he leave any trace. His last appearance was five years after he left.”

Lin Yi didn’t speak, waiting for Shen Shuyi to continue.

”On that operation was Liu Hong, who happened to run into him, then a conflict ensued, and one of Liu Hong’s colleagues was killed by him, thus confirming this matter.”

”Able to commit such deeds indicates complete severance.”

”Because Elder Lu not avenging Chun Xiao became the catalyst for his betrayal, which led to such consequences.”

Shen Shuyi sighed deeply, full of emotion,

”Had these events not occurred, with these three children holding the fort, the Lu family could’ve been secure for a century, without worry.”
