Shen Jianguo stared at her intently, feeling a slight sense of loss in his heart. He couldn’t understand why she had become so cold toward him just because he was a week late in giving her an answer.

The two of them casually found a place to sit, and Sheng Ning lowered her head and devoured her meal, intent on finishing quickly and making her escape.

“Comrade Sheng Ning, did I upset you?” Shen Jianguo asked in distress.

“No!” Her hands continued shoveling rice non-stop, she was genuinely hungry after a day of training.

A look of helplessness flashed across Shen Jianguo’s handsome face. Having such a father, it was a miracle he hadn’t turned out worse.

“I called you here to discuss something, but never mind now.”

“Never mind?” Shen Jianguo’s face fell. He had driven for over an hour just to hear ‘never mind’?

Was this son even his? Forget it. He couldn’t get angry; he was the president, an elder, his own father.

Shen Feihu, in a good mood, completely missed his son’s displeased look and went on, “Your union was organizing joint training for all the female comrades. We wanted to include some people from your side, but it’s not needed now.”

“You little rebel, I’ll beat you to death today,” Shen Feihu swung his fan-sized hand towards Shen Jianguo.

Shen Jianguo had been thrown out to fend for himself since he was little by Shen Feihu. As a mischievous kid, he often stirred up trouble and wasn’t spared from beatings.
