The Darkness Of The Love

Three weeks later. Vania was permitted to leave the hospital a week ago. Her condition was better, but Dev still insisted to have a nurse to attend and take care of her, as sometimes Vania still felt pain from the scars on her head. Dev temporarily had Vania lived in a house near to a residence where he and Nayra lived. After being away from Dev for so long, Nayra felt she was a complete human being for his attention. But she knew she couldn’t be with Dev as she did before.

Chandra wouldn’t let it go. Plus her ex boyfriend was already married. While Vania was there, Dev always returned home late, because after he was back from the office, he always visited Vania first. Just like today.

”Vania, it’s eight. I need to go home. Nayra’s alone.”

”Please, stay for another hour. Keep me company. I’m really lonely here. I have no one to talk to beside you, Dev.” Vania was begging.

”I’ll come here tomorrow.”

”Can’t you stay for the night?”

”Sorry, I can’t. I can’t leave Nayra alone. I need to leave.” Dev put back his suit.

”Fine, then.” Vania was disappointed.

”Will you be okay?”

”Yeah, I will. You can go. You have assigned a guard and nurse here.” Vania didn’t look at Dev.

”Okay, then. Have a good rest.” Dev helped Vania to her bed. He pulled the blanket for her. He rubbed Vania’s cheek and kissed her forehead.

”Good night.”

”Dev...” Vania called, made Dev stopped.

”Yeah?”

”Do you still love me?” Dev was shocked. He was speechless for a while. Vania was still looking at him, hopeful. But Dev couldn’t say anything. As if he didn’t have any answer of it. He wanted to say yes, but it was choked on his throat, because he felt it wasn’t his true answer.

”You must have forgotten me, replaced my position with Nayra. Do you love her?” Vania’s voice was trembling, made it heard like a whisper rather than a question.

”You ask too much. I need to go home. Go to sleep.” Dev left Vania who was still waiting for his answer. As soon as Dev was home, he climbed the stairs to Nayra’s room. He stepped inside quickly and was panicked to see Nayra wasn’t there.

”Where is she?”

”Nayra...?” Dev walked to the bathroom. He wanted to see if his wife was there. As soon as he wanted to knock, Nayra stepped out.

”I thought you went somewhere.” Dev sighed in relief. Nayra didn’t even gave the slightest response. She grabbed a towel to wipe her face.

”How is Vania?” She asked as she walked to the bed, and Dev followed her.

”What do you mean ’how’?”

”She’s feeling better?”

”Why do you always ask me that every time I got home?” Dev frowned. Follow the newest chapters on novelceo(.)com.

”What? I’m just concerned.” Nayra was sarcastic.

”If she hasn’t you can stay there longer, or even stay there for the night.” Dev could notice a slight of jealousy on her eyes, which made him a little bit happy. He took of his suit and shoes, just threw it away. He crawled to Nayra. And grabbed her to his hug.

”I’m just taking care of her until she’s recovered. So don’t be jealous.”

”Jealous? Who is jealous?” Nayra felt stupid.

”Whatever. Have you eaten?”

”Yeah, with Lily. You also have, right?”

”Yeah, I have.” Dev lied.

”Are you tired tonight?” Dev asked, and Nayra knew her husband was after something.

”What is it?” Nayra asked, wary.

”I want to do it for a while,” Dev was stroking her hair behind the ear. He messed with her button until it was off.

”But I’m very tired!” Nayra snapped his hand.

”Just for a while. And we haven’t done it for several days, right? Don’t you miss me?”Dev seduced her again, made her blood to flow faster than before. But Nayra was still silent, with her assumption of what Dev did with Vania.

”Nayra...”Dev woke her up. Nayra wanted to reject him. She didn’t know what her husband did everytime he was at Vania’s. And she knew Dev loved Vania so much. But Nayra had no choice but to fulfill her duty as his wife. After their sexual activity, Nayra was still awake, while Dev was already sleeping sound. She looked at Dev who was hugging her tight. Her thought was crumpled again.

”He must be spending time with Vania a lot,” Nayra wept a little. The next day. Dev was busy wiping his hair while Nayra was still in the bathroom. Dev wore a set of clothes Nayra prepared for him. He tried to find a nail clipper on the make-up table, and he accidentally saw some drugs on it.

”What is this for?” Dev frowned. It was already consumed half of the stripe.

”Good morning, Sir. I brought breakfast for you and Ms. Nayra.” Lily was standing at the edge of the door. She brought the food as Dev ordered last night.
