Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Once the burial was complete, Ji Yuan’s panel refreshed again.

A new upgradeable entry appeared behind the Chaotic Burial Mound.

Without much hesitation, Ji Yuan chose to upgrade since this was the whole reason for his trip.

Ji Yuan hadn’t even had the chance to check the effects of Level 3 Chaotic Burial Mound, when the commotion before him caught his attention.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a patch of ground in the Chaotic Burial Mound move slightly.

Without waiting for his Divine Sense to probe.

He saw a pale right hand suddenly break through the ground, like a bamboo shoot, growing up from the earth.

Then the right hand, and then, the entire corpse stood up from the ground.

This was a male corpse, looking like a man in his fifties or sixties, slightly hunched, fitting Ji Yuan’s mental image of a steward; as for cultivation... it was at Qi Cultivation Stage Level 8.

So, this is the Spirit Effect 1 of Level 2 Chaotic Burial Mound, that the Chaotic Burial Mound can experience corpse transformation, turning corpses into corpse puppets for my use?

After half an incense stick’s time, in Ji Yuan’s perception, Tu Yue’s cultivation rose from Qi Level 6 to Qi Level 7.

What about upgrading further?

The panel provided the answer: it would require three Qi Level 8 corpses... increasing incrementally?

Counting in this way, upgrading low-level corpse puppets wouldn’t be economical.
