Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2579: Chapter 2515: He’s Dead

When the bodyguards left, Cheng Cheng looked at Jiang Shiheng and said, ”Godfather, have you heard of Boss Du?”

”Boss Du?”

”Yes, that guy said it was Boss Du who sent him and told him to follow those people’s instructions. It seems he was just a small fry.”

”I haven’t heard of him. We can ask Grandpa when it gets light.”

They were all waiting for the bodyguards to bring Ah Biao over, but after a while, a bodyguard hurriedly returned.

”Sixth Young Master! Ah Way is dead!”

”What?”

Cheng Cheng and Jiang Shiheng’s faces changed simultaneously.

Someone actually died; this was definitely silencing a witness.

Ah Way’s death quickly spread when dawn broke.

After all, he worked in the kitchen, and those working in the kitchen were very important because they were responsible for the food the Jiang Family ate. So, anyone who worked there had to have their background checked.

Ah Way could be said to have worked in the Jiang Family for years, at least for ten years. When he joined, he was a young man of thirty, now he was in his forties. He was diligent, unassuming, and the kitchen staff spoke well of him.

Diligent and honest.

Nobody imagined he would do such a thing and die silently in his room.

There were no visible wounds on Ah Way’s body.

Ah Way’s body was carried into the courtyard, where many from the Jiang Family had gathered.

”Could it be that he had some illness and suddenly died of an attack during the night?” Fifth Master Jiang said and then coughed.

Fourth Master Jiang glared and said gruffly, ”What nonsense are you saying? Those working in the kitchen get a medical check-up every month; how could they be sick? Wouldn’t it have been discovered early if they were ill?”

If someone sick was making their meals, would they still dare to eat it?

Fifth Master Jiang fell silent.

That seemed to make sense.

Old Master Jiang’s face darkened, and he glanced at Fourth Master Jiang, ”Laosi, shouldn’t this matter be questioned to you? I remember it’s your wife’s brother who manages the kitchen, isn’t it?”

Fourth Madam Jiang immediately covered her mouth and started to cry, ”Old Master, you can’t blame Ah Qiu for this, can you? There are more than twenty people in the kitchen, and Ah Way has been working for ten years. When he joined the Jiang Family kitchen, it wasn’t Ah Qiu in charge. She didn’t know there were problems left by those who came before.”

There were over twenty people in the Jiang Family’s kitchen.

Cheng Cheng felt somewhat frustrated listening from the side.

With such a large family, managing everything, and wanting it to be as tight as a drum with no loopholes, seems almost impossible.

Now that something has happened, blaming each other seems normal.

”Investigate! Now that something so serious has happened, where’s Ah Qiu?” Old Master Jiang’s gaze swept over everyone’s faces.

When Jiang Liu mentioned this to him earlier this morning, the first thought that came to him was whether this Ah Way had also been involved when he had his own mishaps.

Cheng Cheng walked over, squatted down, and lifted Ah Way’s clothes.

Fourth Madam Jiang was taken aback, ”What are you doing?”

”Checking if there are any wounds or fatal injuries on him,” Cheng Cheng said.

”Do you know how? I mean, if it weren’t for you having Ah Way arrested, maybe he wouldn’t have died? And now you’re rushing to it, could it be...”

”Laosi’s wife!” Old Master Jiang interjected loudly, ”What are you suggesting? What’s wrong with Cheng Cheng checking? Will standing here reveal anything new about the dead? Let me ask you, where is Ah Qiu?”
