Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2574: Chapter 2510: Don’t Mention Age

Looks like there’s something going on.

Did Chiang Xiao agree?

”Kiddo, come here, I’ve got something to tell you.”

The grandfather and grandson sat in the living room, Meng Xinian washed his hands and went over to brew tea, and Old Meng watched him, sighing, ”Time really flies, you’re already twenty-five.”

Since meeting Chiang Xiaoxiao, age has become a sensitive topic for Meng Xinian.

So when he heard Old Meng mention age, Meng Xinian’s face immediately darkened. ”Old man, if you have something to say, just say it. Don’t bring up my age.”

”Kiddo, you’re only twenty-five, are you really feeling old like that woman thinks?”

Why can’t twenty-five be mentioned?

Normally, twenty-five isn’t something unspeakable, but Chiang Xiaoxiao is eighteen.

Meng Xinian, with a dark face, said, ”What exactly do you want to say?”

”I mean, others at twenty-five are already fathers!” Old Meng said irritably.

A father...

Is having kids such a good thing?

He thinks that just being with Chiang Xiaoxiao is nice enough. But he knows now what Old Meng wants to say.

”Old man, I’m leaving in five days.”

Upon hearing him mention this, Old Meng felt a bit heavy-hearted, but he knew that nothing said would help, so he just nodded and said, ”I know. Keep your spirits up when you get there.”

”I know, I will.”

”I came here to tell you something, thinking you might go home tonight, so I wanted to tell you not to go back, stay here instead, and spend a good evening with Little, that...”

Just get married first, this is more important...

Old Meng still couldn’t say it directly.

But he sensed Chiang Xiao had probably agreed.

”Of course I’ll spend good time with her, but Little is very strong, she won’t cry over this.”

Old Meng didn’t clarify, and Meng Xinian simply pretended not to understand.

”Little is strong and sensible, so, Xinian, why don’t you register tomorrow?”

”I’ve already picked the date, August twenty-seventh.”

”Alright, alright, then let’s wait until August twenty-seventh to get married. But didn’t you plan that way before? Register first, then have the banquet; you can register tomorrow and have the banquet on August twenty-seventh, isn’t that the same?”

”There was an accident that time, so I’ve changed my mind now. The marriage and banquet are together, and it won’t change.” Meng Xinian said.

Otherwise, he feels it’s not good to keep changing.

”Alright then, so no registering and no marriage for now, just get married first, is that okay?” Old Meng, pushed to his limit, had to spell it out.

Meng Xinian raised his eyebrows.

”Grandpa, I know what you mean, Little has talked to me about it. Let me tell you, Little has agreed.”

Hearing this, Old Meng’s eyes immediately lit up.

”I knew Little was a sensible child! That’s great!”

He couldn’t help but stand up, ”Then maybe I’ll head back now, I won’t disturb you...”

Chiang Xiao is really good, truly sensible.

At this moment, Old Meng felt very grateful to Chiang Xiao.

He didn’t expect she would actually agree.

They originally thought they’d have to talk a lot to persuade her.

Meng Xinian’s face turned dark.

Don’t disturb them?

Is this urging him to hurry and sow seeds?

What does he take Chiang Xiaoxiao for?

”Little agreed, but I don’t.”

”What did you say?” Old Meng thought he heard wrong.

Meng Xinian solemnly said, ”You didn’t hear wrong, I don’t agree.”
