Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1074: Chapter 1075: The Method Is Somewhat Shameless

Chiang Xiao certainly knew about this.

And she originally came for this purpose as well. It’s just that having encountered Meng Chaojun’s issue, she had not paid attention to it these past couple of days.

Wang Yi said excitedly to her, ”Xiao Chiang, let me tell you, this time’s art exhibition will showcase not only Xu Yiqiu’s works and the works of five nationally renowned painters but also our dean mentioned wanting to do it big and well. After a meeting discussion, it was decided to open up a small gallery space exclusively for the works of emerging painters!”

Chiang Xiao was stunned. There was such a thing?

”Since you’re also a painter, this is a great opportunity! You can also bring your paintings to the art gallery for exhibition!”

Chen Yin also said, ”That’s right, it’s a great chance to build your reputation. Sister-in-law, you already have a bit of fame in G Province, but here in Capital City, people might not have heard of you yet, you should try it.”

Chiang Xiao’s heart stirred.

”What are the requirements?”

”It’s quite simple, as long as you have a recommendation from a well-known painter. We have one gallery, and although it’s small, hanging twenty paintings is no issue. Moreover, the submitted works will be assessed by Mr. Xu Yiqiu, who will select sixteen pieces. That is to say, there are sixteen available spots.”

This news was released slowly, and many people might not know about it, eliminating a large number already, and some don’t have recommendations from famous painters or mentors, so the number of participants might not be many.

She then asked, ”Xiao Chiang, do you have a mentor?”

”Yes,” Chiang Xiao responded, while thinking of a way to get Liu Guoying to agree to exhibit the Autumn Scenery Painting he had copied and to build his reputation.

Although the method was a bit shameless.

But to help her mentor quickly join the circle he truly loved, to become a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts instead of teaching sophomore students and wasting his artistic talents, Chiang Xiao decided, shameless or not, she would do it!

”Is there enough time? When is the deadline?”

”The art exhibition starts tomorrow, but the new talents’ exhibition will start in three days after this current exhibition of famous painters. You still have two days, you can just find me then, it will be on time.”

Wang Yi wasn’t specifically making things easier for Chiang Xiao.

After all, her paintings still needed to be assessed by Xu Yiqiu to reach the exhibition standard of her and the dean’s expectations before they could be displayed.

Moreover, the dean had also mentioned during the meeting that if they knew any promising new painters, they should feel free to recommend them.

They all hoped the art world would flourish with new emerging talents. The more new painters who could grow, the happier they would be.

People of this era were not as utilitarian as those of later times, and this period also happened to be one of revitalization. Many veteran artists from various academic communities were truly passionate and devoted to art, hoping the entire academic community would prosper.

”Alright, I will find a way to participate.”

As Chen Yin and the others reached a break in their conversation, he asked, ”Do you have time to join us for a meal, or do you need to go to the hospital?”

Chiang Xiao frowned and asked, ”Does everyone know about Meng Chaojun’s illness already?”

”Those who should know, know. But I heard it’s just a stomach ailment, and he will be out of the hospital in a few days?”

”A stomach ailment?” Chiang Xiao asked, ”Is that what everyone knows?”

”As far as I know, yes.”

Wang Yi added, ”My dad was asking whether we should visit or not. My mom said if we go, let Chen Yin bring me along.”

Chiang Xiao immediately understood that someone had covered this up.

But how could such a serious illness not be treated? How could it be covered up?
